Mangaluru: Indigo begins flight operations to Hyderabad

Mangaluru Dec 21: The maiden Indigo ATR flight started its operations from Mangaluru to Hyderabad early this morning on Thursday December 21. Inaugural flight was greeted at Mangaluru Airport with water salute.

Airport Director Venkatesh Rao and Airport DC CISF Amith Kumar inaugurated by lighting the lamp.

Speaking to Daijiworld Indigo Manager, Archana, said," The first Indigo ATR 6E 7101 flight was greeted with water cannon during its landing from Hyderabad at 8:58 hours at Echo taxiway. The 74 seater Indigo ATR flight is the turbo prop aircraft and it is a first direct flight to Chennai, as we do not have any direct flight from Mangaluru to Chennai,”

Flight 6E7101

Departure 7 .05 am –Hyderabad. Arrival 9. 10 am Mangaluru.
Departure 9:30 am Mangaluru – Arrival 11.30 am Chennai.

Flight 6E7102

Departure 11.50 am Chennai, Arrival Mangaluru 13.45 pm.
Departure 14.05 pm Mangaluru to Hyderabad.

    Need to start Mangalore- Muscat ( Jet airways, Oman airways )Should also give permission to Fly Dubai( they use 737-800 Aircraft same as Jet airways.)Air Arabia,
    Request our Fire MLA, to do something... instead fo doing protest & fighting ofr useless things

    Mangalore should be connected to all metro cities and tier 2 cities ..Its good for local tourism and other industries.
    Mangalore can market itself as a SPiritual and ayurvedic spa destination .There is a lot of international interest building up for yoga and Indian culture,.
    Anyways its good for the growth of the region

    It is not wise to fly regularly. Twice or thrice a week flight makes profitable for airline.
    On other days the same aircraft can be used to connect other cities. Regularly there is no passenger traffic..!
