Bengaluru/Mangaluru: Home minister dismisses demand for NIA probe into Deepak murder

Daijiworld Media Network - Bengaluru/Mangaluru (SP)

Bengaluru/Mangaluru, Jan 4: State home minister Ramalinga Reddy on Thursday January 4 expressed sorrow at the murder of Deepak Rao in Katipalla, and asserted that contrary to allegations from the opposition BJP, the Congress government was not in support of any particular community.

Speaking to reporters, Reddy said, "Four have already been arrested in the case. The state government is neither in support or against any particular community. We work to bring to book those who transgress law."

The home minister felt that there was no need to entrust this case to National Investigation Agency. He added that additional director general of police, Kamal Panth, has been deputed to handle the situation. He expressed himself strongly against politicizing everything in view of coming election, and vitiating atmosphere.

On the demand of activists for his visit to the village, Ramalinga Reddy said he will take a suitable decision after discussing with the chief minister.

In the meanwhile, in addition to compensation of five lac rupees to the bereaved family by way of compensation, the state government has also announced additional five lac rupees from Chief Minister's Relief Fund. The activists have been demanding for compensation of Rs 50 lac.

This HM has proved himself he can only bluff and do not deliver. He has given statements on various murder, but proved to be bluffs.
Mangalore is becoming a place of lawlessness with Goondagiri, Hafta Wasooli, Murders etc. and this HM does not do anything and also not serious about it. CM should replace him.

    jossey,

I don't have objection for your support to congress party. but at least have a humanity. he could be belonging to bjp or hindu organistation but who gave the right to kill that person. what back ground you want? he was working with muslim community people only. if he was so communal how they accept him.
