Mangaluru: Police arrest two for attack on youth at Suratkal

Mangaluru, Jan 11: The police have arrested two persons in connection to the attack on Mubashir on the night of January 3.

The arrested are Yashodhar (20), a resident of Idya, Suratkal, and Preetham alias Gowdappa (20), a native of Badami who stays in a rented house at Baikampady.

Mubashir was assaulted on the night of January 3 in retaliation to the murder of Deepak Rao in Katipalla earlier the same day. The police had formed a special team led by Suratkal police inspector to nab the accused who had arrived in a bike wearing helmets.

Panambur north police sub-division anti-rowdy squad arrested the two accused on January 10 in this connection.

The accused have been handed over to Suratkal police for further action.

Panambur police station inspector Rafiq K M led the team which arrested the accused. Anti-rowdy squad staff ASI Mohammed, Kushal Maniani, Sathish, Isaaq, Krishna B K, Vijaya Kanchan, Raja, Sharan Kali, Chandrahasa Alva and Radhakrishna took part in the operation.
