Mangalore: Installation of Lions Club Ashoknagar held

Mangalore, Jul 24: Lions district deputy governor Alwyn Patrao advised the members of Lions clubs as well as others to imbibe the quality of throbbing to the problems and ordeals in the lives of others and share their happiness. This will result not only in the individual progress of oneself but also that of the society as a whole, he stressed.

He was speaking at the installation ceremony of Ashoknagar Lions Club, held at Lions Seva Mandir here, recently.

Manju took over as the new president of Lions Club Ashoknagar while Navin Shetty K became the secretary. Bhaskar was appointed as treasurer with Seema Manju installed as the president of the Lioness Club. Sharat R Balnad took over as secretary of Lioness Club with the treasurer's post going to Sangeetha Bhaskar.

On this occasion, service projects worth about Rs 50,000 were announced. Adarsh Shetty read out the policies and principles of Lions Clubs. Suresh Shetty presented the report pertaining to last year. Sujay and Saumya honoured those who extended help to them during their term as the club office bearers by presening mementoes.

District ex-governors Dr Ramdas Rai, Dr Udayshankar Sheth, zonal officer Girish Shanbhogue and regional officer Sujay who participated in the function, extended their best wishes to the newly-inducted office bearers and others. Navin Shetty K proposed vote of thanks. Ashok Shenoy and Ashwini Shetty presented the programme.
