Margao: Spate of Robberies Continues Unabated, Thieves at Large

Margao, Jul 25: Police stated that a robbery took place in the wee hours of Thursday, July 24, in the Gautam Talaulikar electronic shop. Robbers decamped with four video cameras worth nearly Rs 4 lac.

The shop is located by the main road, and besides a security guard in the building, there is also a 24-hour petrol pump just opposite it. The fact that a robbery took place despite all this has spread shock waves and people are now concerned about their security.

A spate of robberies have taken place in the state, with most of them in chief minister Digamber Kamat’s constituency, despite the police claiming that they have intensified patrolling at night.

On Tuesday, July 22, night one computer shop was robbed, and the thieves decamped with seven computers. Margao police are still investigating the cases, but have not nabbed anyone in this connection so far.
