Mangaluru, Jan 20: The poster of Tulu film ‘Paddayi’ directed by award-winning director Abhaya Simha was unveiled recently.

The film is based on William Shakespeare’s novel ‘Macbeth’. The backdrop of the film is based on the fishing community.

The film will star Mohan Shenoy, Bindu Rakshidhi, Chandrahas Ulla, Gopinath Bhat, Avinash Rai, Sadashiv N Rai Ninasam, Shrinidhi Achar, Prabhakar Kapikad, Vani Peruvodi, Ravi Bhat, Mallika and others.

Screen play has been handled by Abhaya Simha himself. S Nithyananda Pai has produced the film. Music has been composed by Manikanth Kadri. Rakshith karanth is the associate director and editing has been handled by Prashanth Pandith.

‘Paddayi’ was shot in a 21-day schedule across Udupi, Malpe, and Padukere. There is Mogaveera-accent Tulu spoken in almost 90 per cent of the film. Sync-sound technology has been used for the first time ever in Coastalwood.

Abhaya Simha is known for his national award winning children’s Kannada film ‘Gubbachigalu’. He also brought Malayalam superstar Mamooty in Shikari, a Kannada-Malayalam bilingual film. His third film was Kannada film ‘Sakkare’ starring Ganesh.
