Nip in Delhi's air as fog engulfs NCR

New Delhi, Jan 24 (IANS): It was a cold and foggy Wednesday morning in Delhi and its suburbs with the minimum temperature recorded at 7 degrees Celsius in the capital -- a notch above the season's average.

According to a Met official, moderate to dense fog blanketed Delhi and adjoining Noida and Gurugram regions in the morning. The condition bettered as the day progressed.

However, there was a nip in the air after a day of drizzle on Tuesday when the maximum temperature recorded was 21 degrees Celsius.

"Dense to very dense fog at isolated places (was) likely over Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh and Delhi, north Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and Bihar (till Thursday morning)," said the weatherman here.

The maximum temperature on Wednesday was likely to hover around 21 degrees Celsius.
