Bengaluru, Feb 4: Ahead of Prime Minister's Narendra Modi's much-talked about visit to Bengaluru, chief minister Siddaramaiah took a jibe at the PM and political adversary, welcoming him to India's 'No 1 state'.

"I welcome PM @narendramodi to Namma Karnataka - the no. 1 state in investments,innovation & progressive policies. Through a unique model of development, we have scripted several national firsts across key sectors. I am confident that Karnataka’s success makes India proud," Siddaramaiah tweeted.

That's not all. Apparently to snub BJP, the state government has hung hoardings at various places Bengaluru, which read 'welcome to No 1 state'. The hoardings were erected overnight on Saturday.

The hoardings, prominently displaying the picture of chief minister Siddaramaiah, have occupied places of prominence. It appears that through this endeavour, the state government is aiming at achieving dual goals of extending welcome to visiting Prime Minister, apart from drawing his attention to the fact that Karnataka state remains No 1 in the country as far as development is concerned.

The entire city has acquired saffron colour because of decorative festoons lining several roads. The state government has erected its hoardings next to big BJP boardings. Some of the spots where these hoardings are cited are near chief minister's home office, Mekhri Circle, Hebbal, BDA, BBMP circle, airport road etc. With this the state government seems to have countered the programme being organized today by the BJP at the culmination of its 'Parivartana Yatra'.

I really dont understand why people pick and chose answers. There are so many hotels which make money selling eatables. When PM says you make Pakoras what is wrong in it. You do the hotel business in a big way which calls for marketing and other strategies. If Halli Mane Rotti can become a booming business for Shilpa what is wrong in making Pakora selling a business.

I had travelled from kerala to karnataka and from tamilnadu to karnataka ..in both the cases I find that ..the minute we land in karnataka ..the roads are filled with potholes and are not graded.
I don't remember the year or the govt that was in power ..I think the govt in karnataka is more corrupt compared to their tamilnadu or kerala counterparts and lacks a clear vision ..
It seems to be more focused on Bangalore,Mysore and Mandya ..other areas are totally ignored.
Just recalling karnataka leaders ...devegowda ,Patil ,sidharammaya ,yedurrappa ..
The only people who seems to have done some development are SM krishna ,devraj urs,ramakrishna hegde and gundu rao.

There had been, and there would be many great leaders in India.

But in the current scenario, India needs Modi. Why?

Reasons are many and I list a few of them hereunder -

1. He is not corrupt like almost all the politicians of all the political parties are/were; This fact can be established only by looking at the condition of his brothers and other family members while imagine the fortunes of the other politicians and their families, e.g. Vadra, Lalus, Akhilesh’s 22 family members, billionaire Dalit queen Mayawati and scores of others.

2. He is bold enough to take even unpopular decisions for the sake of the future of this nation; yes, only time will tell whether his decisions were right or wrong;

3. I live abroad ... I know what the reputation of India four years ago used to be but today, at least Modi’s PR has got some of our reputation back; we feel that.

4. I dont think any of his ministers have looted the country in the last almost four years, the way Congress had been doing it for 67 years.

5. His strong image before China, Pakistan and other nations would certainly be getting India a better treatment at the international platform;

6. Ask the poor people of this country who had seen the banks first time and today their accumulative savings have touched over 40,000 crores;

7. About 1500, 18th century laws have been removed from the IPC;

8. Subsidies are reaching direct to the bank accounts of the poor while in Congress raj, all the money used to be pocketed by the local netas and Panchayati heads;

9. 30 million women are enjoying cooking gas and now not burning their own bones to cook for the family;

10. Forget Demonetization and GST at the moment, next generation will understand what good Modi has done for India;

I can cite several such examples and small things which this government has done and is doing continuously but keep in mind, seventy years of slush cannot be cleared in mere three years.

However, never forget, that this country, with a history of corruption, religious bigotry, enmity, greed, jealousy, intolerance and full of traitors, would not be easy to control even by a Dictator.

And finally, this is not the question whether BJP or Modi is doing good or bad, the million dollar question is, if Congress was tolerated for 6 decades, why not Modi for

at least One? I think if he wins 2019 elections, India would have many more surprises for you to encounter.
