'Countdown has begun for Congress govt's exit from Karnataka': PM Modi in Bengaluru

Daijiworld Media Network - Bengaluru

Updated

Modi also said the Congress govt was engaged in 'ease of doing murders'

Bengaluru, Feb 4: Chants of 'Modi, Modi' resonated at Palace Grounds here on Sunday February 4 as Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed thousands of BJP workers who assembled to witness the grand conclusion of BJP's Parivarthan Yatra.

The 'Parivarthan Yatra' was launched by BJP President Amit Shah on November 2 last year. According to party leaders, the "Yatra' has traversed over 15,000 km during its journey, aimed at "exposing misdeeds" of the Siddaramaiah government.

Much to the delight of the crowd, PM Modi began his address in Kannada before switching to Hindi.

"I have visited Karnataka earlier too, but I have never seen such a sight. The large crowd, the saffron flags waving everywhere, all this show that countdown has begun for Congress to leave Karnataka. Congress is at the exit gate.

"We will develop the Metro, roads, railway system if we come to power in the state. Even after so many years of Independence, there are 7 lac homes in Karnataka and 4 crore homes in the country that still do not have electricity and are still living in the 18th century.

"We will realise the dream of Congress-free Karnataka. The people of Karnataka have been watching how the Congress government and its chief minister have worked only for their personal benefits and not for the welfare of the people. That is the reason why central government funds released for the state have not been utilised. The party has caused destruction and Karnataka doesn't need a Congress culture anymore.

"In this year's budget, we announced Rs 17,000 crore for the construction of suburban railway in Bengaluru which will benefit 15 lac commuters in the city. When UPA was in power, it was able to develop only 950 km of national highway in Karnataka, but during our reign over the last four years, we developed 1,600 km of national highway in this state. The government has set a goal to build more than 9,000 km long national highway across the nation this year. Under Bharatmala Pariyojana, 35,000 km of roads will be constructed with an investment of Rs 5,25,000. UPA built only 33 km of railway line in Karnataka, whereas we have already built 200 km of railway line here," he said.

"Under PM Jan Dhan Yojana, more than 1.16 crore accounts have been opened in Karnataka, opening the doors of banking for the poor and the lower middle class. We have also given 1.85 crore of LPG connections and built 34 lac toilets under Swachh Bharat Mission.

"We want to see a day when a person wearing 'hawai chappals' (slippers) is able to travel in 'hawai jahaz' (aeroplane). Perform, reform, transform is the mantra that our government follows," he added.

Speaking on issues concerning farmers, PM Modi said, "Yeddyurappa is the son of a farmer and if he becomes the CM of Karnataka again, projects for farmers will be implemented well as he has the farmer's interest at heart. In this budget, our government has made a significant decision so that correct price of crops are given to farmers. During the UPA regime, Karnataka got Rs 73,000 crore, but we have released Rs 2 lac crore for the state, which is more than 180% more.

"Farmers producing fruits and vegetables are our 'TOP' priority. 'TOP' means 'tomato, onion and potato'. We have launched 'Operation green' in the interest of these farmers. 'Operation green' would be beneficial for farmers just like the Amul model was successful in dairy," he added.

Referring to a spate of killings of workers of BJP and the Sangh Parivar, he said a number of workers associated with BJP and its affiliated organisations have been killed. "It is an assault on the social fabric. I appeal to the people of Karnataka to vote against the government which attacks the social fabric of the state. I am seeing that Karnataka has decided to free the state from Congress. To free from Congress' culture, from society, from public life, from politics."

Targetting the Congress, he said, "Congress government is supporting criminals. Day by day murders are happening here. In the whole world there is discussion about ease of doing business and there are efforts in that direction. Our government is making efforts for the ease of doing business and talking about ease of living. But with the Congress government in Karnataka, here there are discussions regarding ease of doing murders. It has become dangerous even to speak against the state government, as one may end up paying with one's life for doing so. This is dangerous for democracy and a matter of shame for the state government.

Charging the state with setting new records in corruption, Modi said Congress-free government means freedom from a dynastic rule, nepotism, corruption and loot. He also referred to the IT raids at the residences of two state ministers and that a raid on a senior Congress leader revealed Benami property and said, "there are 'Steel Mafia', sand mafia and transfer mafia' in the state."

"Many prominent people hatched a conspiracy to pocket crores of rupees in the name of Hebbal steel bridge project, but thanks to the public outrage and the BJP's protest, the state government was forced to withdraw the project.

"There are serious allegations of corruption against Congress leaders. Reports are coming about them demanding commission in several projects. I have been told that Karnataka govt is being recognised as '10% government' as no work is possible without 10% commission," he said.

He also lauded former cricketer Rahul Dravid, coach of the Under-19 India team which has won the World Cup, saying that such discipline and hardwork is the culture of Karnataka.

PM Modi then went on to list out a number of central projects and schemes for the poor.

"BJP government stands for development, whereas Congress for corruption," he said.

He also spoke about the contentious triple Talaq bill and said that while his government is striving to provide justice to Muslim women, the Congress is playing vote bank politics by trying to stall the bill.

He ended the speech in Kannada, saying that he was confident that the people of Karnataka would elect the BJP to power in the state.

To the disppointment of Mahadayi activists, the Prime Minister made no comment on the issue despite protests prior to the rally demanding a statement from the PM. Chief minister Siddaramaiah too had urged the PM to speak on it.

Union minister Anant Kumar delivered the welcome address, wherein he called the previous UPA govt 'Ulta-Pulta Alliance'.

BJP state president B S Yeddyurappa also spoke. The party leaders felicitated the PM.

When the countdown for 'Mangalyaan' was began he came to Karnataka and took credit for it successful launch that was actually initiated during Congress government. Now he is again in Bangalore taking credit for the success of 'Karnataka Model'.

Hope Kannadigas will launch him again this time to land him safely back to Gujrat. That will be real countdown.

Dear Mr. Modi, You are the Prime Minister of India. Your job is not to find out faults of parties. You have to see development of the country now. If you do so there is no need for you to run after the states for votes. Also if you are a good person people will willingly vote you without you asking or begging them.

Our hounourable PM Modiji is just screaming and covering his failures by screaming , blaming Congress for all the ills.

4 years unfulfilled promises, now he is blaming Congress. Gujarath model is disappeared in his speech and what is left for him is only blaming Congress party and talking tough about Pakistan. At our borders, our jawans are dying daily and it seems, there also he is politicising the issue in his party favour.

He has become a very good sales man with flying colour. But could not deliver what he has promised and became failures and proved he is nothing short of FEKU.

Current road width is about 10-12 feet just about 1 lane kind of space for 2 way traffic movement. so many accidents and gurpur bridge is nearing its 100th birthday which was built for horse carts and cycle movement back in 1920.Iron barricade has caught rust and every year pieces are falling off.Little painting is done to cover up.If this collapses there will be chaos. There is no alternative road leading to the city.

When PM stoops low to Chaddi and Yeddi's level - my GOD! Karnataka needs help.
Modiji's failed agenda must not be introduced to Karnataka - Karnataka has come a long way with
Congress - lets reward them for good work!
Modij's swach Bharat is for communal forces - does it apply to all honorable/hard working Indians?
When communal forces rule the land - minorities have nowhere to go! The hate mongering in the name
    of religion will continue in-abated.
Just like Guj riots - Do we have an actual count of PERISHED/BURNT ALIVE Muslims/and Muslim Families? We must HOLD our beloved MODIJI accountable. Karnataka is NOT GUJARATH MODIJI!

On the one hand he is talking about eliminating corruption and on the other he is projecting the king of corrupt persons - Yeddyurappaji of course. Do you call this double speak? Now it is for the readers to decide what they want. Do you want the corrupt team headed by Yeddyurappaji to come and loot the state once again or do you want the team that has, by and large, given a good account of themselves. The choice is yours. Today the major states in the country are still ruled by BJP.

Most of these States and every state is in a JAM due to the failure of ACT.

    A- Agriculture Sector.

    C- Construction Sector

    T- Textiles Sector.

These Sectors have ll been directly OR Indirectly been affected by a) demonitaistion b) GST

The 3 Persons who are responsible for the JAM in the country are :

    J-aitley
    A-mit
    M-odi

The farmers of the State are not as Important as the farmers of Gujarat and other BJP ruled states .

There was not as single mention or any semblance of reference to the boiling issue MAHADAYI.

The Farmers, Students & Middle Class will NOT vote for BJP as their ills have not been addressed .
There is no mention now of 15 lakh or Acche Dhin .
Burre Dhin with Congress OR JDS or any party is much better than with BJP as we can atleast Worship our Gods in peace(OR be Atheist of we prefer) , Eat what we like, and see any Movie we wish to.

It is shame full to see the Prime Minister of a great country like ours indulging in such falsehoods to win elections. Stooping to such low levels that no Prime Minister has ever done so in Independent India. His speech is an horrible Insult to the great people of Karnataka. If he has a conscience, then he should feel ashamed of the Governance in BJP ruled states like UP, MP and the rest. The people of India have realised that Modi has taken the whole country for ride with his Gujarat model of Development and all the talk of Achey Din and rooting out corruption. The country is sliding in the reverse gear because of the three Musketeers namely Modi, Jetley and Amit Shah who have taken the country back by ten years. Why is he silent on Lok Pal and on Amit Shahs sons corruption and also the corruption in all BJP ruled states. An irresponsible Prime Minister indulging in cheap and petty politics.

As per Modi..."We will develop the Metro, roads, railway system if we come to power in the state. Even after so many years of Independence, there are 7 lac homes in Karnataka and 4 crore homes in the country that still do not have electricity and are still living in the 18th century.
Well Mr. Modi, BJP as won election in centre what have you'll done for the country so far? Farmers are dying, farmers are not getting right price for their crops while the prices for the same are high in the market, prices for each and everything is gone up, millions of people are jobless make in India is not happening, no investment is coming, investors doesn't want to take any risk, etc etc etc. BJP came to power in many states there are no proper roads, no proper electricity, people are still living below poverty, rape is still going on, killing is more then before beside that killing is carried on in the name of animals, etc etc etc.
So first fulfill all those promises then promise us that you'll will do all those things if BJP wins in Karnataka. Right now we all are happy with all the things what we have, we don't want to suffer again.

KARNATAKA GOVT IS SENSIBLE THAN GUJARAT.

Please inform Feku that Karnataka state GDP to debt ratio was 20% less than Gujarat. If state debt is 1.9lakh crores, Modi ruled Gujarat has over 2.5lakh crores and GDP to Debt ratio is over 20% that means they borrow more debt for less income.

Karnataka didn't borrow 1 lakh crores from Japan for 550km like the way Gujarat availed loan for unfeasible Gujarat Bullet train that takes 15yrs to start and pay loan and interest for 50yrs or wasted Rs. 3,000 crores for Sardar Patel statue or Rs. 3,600 crores for Shivaji statue from taxpayer money.

    @Dr. S. Kamath, Mumbai
I can’t believe that being a highly litrate/educated person (being a doctor), so much of blind bhakthism towards BJP. You know whatever you have justified to N.M.’s questions is not at all true (most of the justifications). We may be supporters of some political parties, but it doesn’t mean that we try our best to make false as true that too being educated.

I am a 100% kannadiga and I have seen the development work taken place during CM Siddaramayya rule which is praiseworthy. And I won’t deny that during BSY rule too development work has taken place but the corruption level was at its peak and for that they had pay a high price and plus to that communal disharmony specially in our twin districts by some anti social elements. Now also, the same anti social or fringe elements which are supported by politicians are trying to destabilize peace and harmony and they have succeeded to some extent. But the truth we all know that who are all behind this and some culprits have been caught. I too agree that to some extent government too has failed to curb these issues. So being an educated people, if we don’t want to praise some individual or the party whom we do not like for their good work, then let us not comment negatively.
    Jai Karnataka

I can assure you that INC will win with a majority in Karnataka. BJP and its partner JDS are sinking ships in Karnataka.

People have not forgotten BJP's Illegal iron -ore mining scam / Bellary Scam, land de-notification scam, jail Yatra of bjp leaders, Operation Kamala, 2012 porn-in-assembly scandal, Eshwarappa's cash counting machine, 2008 shooting farmers in Haveri, 2012 homestay attacks, 2009 pub attacks, Pak flag hoisting in Sindhagi, Bijapur, Communal conflicts and riots, emptying state exchequer, draught mismanagement, resort politics, 3 C.M's and 2 Deputy C.M's etc.
