Bengaluru: CM admonishes officials for issuing circular on Maths, temples

Daijiworld Media Network - Bengaluru (SP)

Bengaluru, Feb 8: Karnataka chief minister (CM), Siddaramiah, is said to have expressed anger at the issuance circular by religious endowments department about the government's initiative on the issue of taking Maths and other religious places into its control.

The chief minister is learnt to have summoned muzrai minister, Rudrappa Lamani, and officials, to his home office, 'Krishna', on Wednesday February 7 evening. He wanted to know from them whether issuance of such a circular was a dire need at a time when election is approaching. It is said that the officials issued the circular without even bringing it to the knowledge of the minister. Siddaramaiah took the officials to task on this aspect too. He also wanted to know from the minister what he has been doing in the matter.

It is said that there is opposition for the said circular from within Congress party itself. It is said that Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee president, Dr G Parameshwar, speaking to his close ones, wondered whether it was necessary to issue such a circular without discussing the same in the party forums when election is fast approaching.

but what happened later, that everybody aware of, BESHARAMS won and DYNAMIC PM lost, Shameless Rai has been awarded abundantly. India became sixth richest nation but the all richness gone in the hands of 8 people, children are dying due to hunger, maltreatment and malnutrition. This is FEKU'S PAKODA DEVELOPMENT THEORY!!!!!!

Whatever the minister has done, was based on the Government Agenda, no away Sidda was not aware of. CM Sidda was behind Hindu temples from the day one when he came to power. He don't see any other Religious Institutions ( only Hindu temples). Please keep religion away from politics- this is the safe option for all political parties. Even people will be live peacefully.
    Now CM is EXPOSED..

Jennifer...there are several laws for corruption/misappropriation...it happens in every religious organisation, groups are into street fights also..then why Govt only want to take over temple/mutt & their institutions..

there are many temple/muts built on private donated land, devotees fund..Devotees temple hundi amount in crores govt takes but look at the pathetic situations of approaching roads, toilets there..its time devotees teach Hindu political leaders (which ever the party) through ballot box..since other community leaders always keep their community first/their interest first but Hindu leaders only trying to become secular and mum on these actions..by the way,

people revolt for declaring Governance day on December 25th(not mandatory attendence) here whole temple built on devotees money Govt want to control!!

    Ramesh,

Why are you addressing your grievance to me ? Have I told you to give millions to any temple ? Gold necklaces, Gold head wear (Kirita), Thrishul/arrow, diamond hand - have I ? What will a devotee earn by this ? I on the contrary am telling that peoples contribution should be for the betterment of the society, uplifting of the poor.

During a recent discussion about a certain religious head asking legal help to vacate tenants I questioned how the tenets of the faith are practicing by applying the force on the tenants ! Therefore, donate your deeds where they fit right, don't support in certain parties accumulating wealth.

Yes, including political parties. We have one weapon in our hand, our vote. Do not vote for people who ask for it on the basis of religion because religion is personal, not a political choice. If at all someone is asking it from you because a particular religion is dwindling and your vote will flourish it, you are terribly fooled.

but the minorities have always been voting enmasse for the congress, even though they have done nothing for the, except throw some few crumbs.
You are now asking the Hindus to vote as individuals. Hindus have always voted as individuals.
Thats why a Lobo can be elected in mangalore, where the christian population is only 12%. 12% is no way enough to get elected. Its only because the hindus voted for him ,that he won.
Let me see the minorities vote as individuals.

    Mohammed,

I have told you before, your name and the pattern of your comments don't display compatibility.

Now, if minorities have voted for Congress, its because Congress believes in co-existence of all communities. Though Modi blamed Congress for splitting India, for all those who remained behind, seeing across the borders, its a blessing that they are not part of those brake-away pieces.

See the condition of their economy, health, education - I am so grateful to Congress (if it did) for the partition. These people are talking about 'Akhand Bhaarat' they must be joking. Nobody wants to reattach the poverty and disease to the mother part ! Once the two wings are detached, Congress wanted peaceful co-existence. If even 1% of that feeling was with BJP, I am sure many from the minority members would already have been within the fold of BJP.

True, JRL did not get voted because of minorities votes alone, he is a combined result. I am sure those elected him did not have to regret - JRL is a precious gem. I still hope people if the district, state keep feeling in similar lines and vote wisely, not on the basis of protectors of their own religion.

Dr. Kamath, Ramesh S, Dinesh, Sanjay, Mahi and all those who commented here :

You gentlemen are aware that the collections from temples is taken by the government as per the Endowment Act. You gentlemen are also aware that the process is by the Central Govt. And also that the temple staff is given a grade-wise salary in return to the collection made.

Now, do you gentlemen want the process to remain under the central govt., or wish that it should be transferred to the state ? Imagine the number of temples in the Southern part of India. Imagine the collections that gather into the central fund and get averaged to give salary to the temple staff ! Just like our taxes get merged into the central govt., and meager schemes given to us by the central govt. Guess the tax-payers in Karnataka and those in UP/Bihar/Odisha ? Who are well-off - us, or they ?

Similarly, isn't it better us keeping our money (whether general taxes or temple collections) and using it for our people than getting an average distribution ? Well, don't blame me to be advising divide & rule. You guys either stop contributing to temples income, or continue it and make the matters more complicated. In which case, please don't crib, you begged for it.

Instead, sponsor development programs, support the NGOs that do good work - sheltering the beggars/run away children and rehabilitating them, look after the handicapped, running rural school or others. Attach the receipt of your contribution to your tax-filing - believe me, there is a rule that the government gives you a rebate based on your contribution. Because, the government can't reach out to everyone hence it approves licensed NGOs to do this job and the organizations are paid based on their services after inspecting them to have actually happened, not bogus.

Ask any CA who is helping you in filing the taxes. This is the truth.

Nevertheless, can't you decide for your own ? Does an Act passed changes when governments change ? If so, could BJP not change the Endowment Act in the past four years ?
