Mangaluru, Feb 8: As per information received, city crime branch police from here have succeeded in taking into custody one of the assailants who were behind the killing of Ilyas from Target group.
It is said that Shamir, one of the accused in the case, was arrested from Kerala. He has been brought to the city for questioning.
Ilyas, who belonged to the notorious 'Target' group, and indulged in criminal activities, was stabbed to death when he was sleeping at home after getting bail in another case on January 13 this year. Ilyas had died on the spot in the attack. The police believe that four persons were involved with this murder.
