Mangaluru, Feb 9: Through a press release, the police department stated that relating to the murder of Ilyas of the notorious Target Group, police personnel have succeeded in arresting two of the accused.

Ilyas was murdered in his residence at flat No. 303 of Mifta Apartment near Jappu Kudupady mosque in the city at around 9.05 am on January 13 this year by stabbing him with a knife when he was sleeping.

The names of the arrested accused have been given as Muhammed Sameer alias Sameer alias Robert (27), son of Aliabba, residing near Abbakka Circle near Salafi mosque, Ullal , and Nameer Hamza (34), son of the late Abubakker, residing at Gerukatte, Pavoor, Manjeshwar, Kasargod district. The arrests were made by the police personnel of Pandeshwar polcie station here and the city crime branch staff.

The police said that accused Sameer has also been facing a case pertaining to attacking Surma Imran, a member of Target Group, and vandalizing the house of Hamza, another member of Target Group, and attacking his family members. Both these cases are registered in Ulal police station.

It is learnt that Nameer Hamza faces a case of murder attempt in Konaje police station, a case of robbery in Suratkal station, a robbery attempt case in city (north) station, and kidnap case in Ullal police station.
