Mangalore: Human Resources More Precious than Technology

Daijiworld Media Network - Mangalore (SP)

Mangalore, Aug 5: National president of the National Institute of Personnel Management (NIPM) Dr Ashok Kumar Balyan opined that the only competitive edge a concern can have in the present competitive environment, is the people they hire. He was addressing the HR fraternity after installing new members and office-bearers of Mangalore chapter of NIPM in the city recently.

In the present era, Human Resources management is faced with the objective of meeting the objectives of both the corporate and the individual. Human resource plays a major role for the success or otherwise of an organization. The HR department needs to be always focused to ensure that the human resources available are employed efficiently, professionally and aptly. They also have the responsibility of providing training to the workforce in being more professional in their approach, he explained.

Identifying skills, understanding interests and strong points of the employees, deploying employees in suitable places to ensure maximum benefit for the organization, are all strategies that need to be adopted for the successful running of an organization. Talented and loyal employees alone can excel in work and bring about excellent business results. Capability to understand individual traits and imbibing strategies befitting the situation, are  also the skills of a HR professional.  The final product of an organization is determined by the human factor, Balyan said.

NIPM chairman P A Jose and vice-chairman Titus Mathew were present.
