Udupi: 25-year-old killed in bus-bike collision at Malpe

Udupi, Feb 12: A youth was killed in a collision between a bus and a bike at a Malpe here on Monday February 12.

The deceased has been identified as Manjunath Naik (25), a resident of Someshwar in Hebri.

Manjunath was riding from Malpe towards Hoode while the bus, plying from Hoode to Malpe rammed into his bike.

The accident took place just 300 metres from the police station. On receiving information, Malpe SI Madhu rushed to the spot and shifted a critically injured Manjunath to hospital, where he was declared brought dead.

It is said that Manjunath was wearing a helmet of poor quality. The helmet split open due to the impact of the accident.

Manjunath was unmarried and was employed in the tile business.

Malpe police have registered a case.

    Hope family could bare the tragedy and loss of its member.

    The picture says bike is almost at the center of the road, he still had enough space to his left. Hope he was not riding fast.
