Security forces in J&K launch searches in Samba

Jammu, Feb 16 (IANS): Security forces started search operations in parts of Samba district in Jammu and Kashmir on Friday after some people reported suspicious movements in the area.

Police said people living in Katli area reported these movements early on Friday, following which a joint search operation by the police and the army was launched.

Schools in the adjoining areas where searches were underway have been shut down for the day as a precautionary measure.

This comes close on the heels of back-to-back terror attacks in both Jammu and Srinagar since February 12, that caused around a dozen deaths.
