Mumbai, Aug 11: The annual general body meeting of Model Co-operative Bank was held at St Xavier's Institute of Engineering auditorium, Mahim (West) on Sunday August 10 morning.
Model Co-operative Bank chairman Albert W D'Souza, in his presidential address, said "the Bank has secured the customers confidence, since it has expressly responded to new generation of banking services. The bank has been offering best of its services to all types of customers thereby gained niche among the financial institutions in metro."
While announcing the dividend of 11 percent to shareholders, Albert W D'Souza, explained the educational loans to promising students at competitive rate of interest and attractive interest on fixed deposits.
Meanwhile, the bank has designed special loans to youth entrepreneurs; in order to set up small scale industries thereby empower them economically, he advised.
Louis Cabral, manager of Model Bank Andheri (East) branch was honoured for securing first place in over all performance this year while A M L D'Souza, manager of Malad (West) branch was honoured for securing first place in loan advances. Felix Noronha, assistant manager of Borivali (West) branch was honoured for bagging highest amount of deposits, by Bank chairman Albert W D'Souza, at the same occasion.
Model Bank founder chief executive officer John D'Silva, deputy chairman Prof A P D'Souza, directors Vincent Mathias, Lazarus Menezes, William Sequeira, Prem Aranha, Prakash Fernandes, Marita D'Mello, Benedicta B Rebello, Sanjay Shinde, George Castelino, business development director Paul Nazareth and Philip Pinto were present at the dais.
Fr Lawrence Ferrao and Fr Lancy D'Souza offered Eucharistic Mass before the annual general body meeting.
The shareholders, well wishers and customers attended the meeting in large numbers who conveyed best wishes in the future endeavour of bank.
Chief manager Frank R Lewis welcomed. The minutes of last meeting were read and annual report presented at the occasion. Deputy general manager William R D'Souza proposed vote of thanks.
