Bengaluru: Surjewala asks Modi to speak up on 'loot' of Rs 31,691 cr in last 10 days

From Our Special Correspondent
Daijiworld Media Network - Bengaluru

Bengaluru, Feb 27: Mounting pressure on the corruption issue as well as seeking to tarnish the "squeaky clean" image cultivated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, AICC Media In-Charge Randeep Singh Surjewala asked the self-proclaimed "chowkidar of the treasury" to break his silence and speak up on the "loot" of Rs 31,691 crore from the banking sector during the last 10 days alone.

"It is tax-payer's money and the people need an honest explanation," he said.

Addressing reporters at the Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee office in Bengaluru, the Congress leader alleged that "in past 10 days alone, 'Jan Dhan loot scams' worth Rs 31,691 crore have been exposed.

'Dupe the banks', 'siphon off to foreign shores' with people's money is the buzzword” under the Modi regime," he said.

Under the Modi Government, "entire banking sector's 'risk management system', 'fraud detection ability' and the 'regulatory mechanism' have been severally compromised.

However, prior knowledge of PMO, ED, Ministry of Corporate Affairs, Serious Fraud Investigation Office (SFIO), and SEBI; as also BJP governments of Maharashtra and Gujarat of the ongoing scam by 'Modi-plus Choksi” has been established, the Congress leader alleged.

Surjewala asked searching questions:

- How could a celebrity jewellery businessman like Nirav Modi and his uncle Mehul Choksi dupe the entire banking system through forged Letters of Understanding under the nose of Modi Government?

- How was the entire system bypassed? How did the entire fraud escape the four stage audit system of Banks - statutory audit, internal audit, concurrent audit and RBI audit?

The Prime Minister should answers to these questions and provide explanation to the people, the Congress leader said.

He took strong exception to Modi's allegations that the Congress government of Siddaramaiah in Karnataka was corrupt without producing a shred of evidence and publicly claim that he was told by few persons about the 10% commission.

When a Prime Minister speaks at any platform, people expect that the speech should be backed by facts and hard evidence and not gossip, Surjewala said.

For BJP supporters/Modi Bhakts, current political actions from BJP is like a gum that they have chewed assuming it is sweet. neither in a position to spit it nor to swallow. In other words, they can neither accept that Modi Sarkar is a total failure nor digest the fact & move on blaming BJP & facing reality. Gum is in the throat & they are in the biggest dilemma. India is drowning day by day & it will keep drowning until Bhakts decide to spit the gum out .
Modi & BJP has gained confidence that no matter what nonsense we do to uphold interest of few business magnet (og course leaders gain out from it), our followers will never question us. This attitude of Govt drives them to do more unethical & rubbish governance against Nation's common interest.
Including you & me, we will pay a huge price for this BJP Government's rule.
Speaking about Congress, they have got the result in 2014 for what they have done .
    BJP wait for your turn.

Its a very old narrative by BJP and bhakts to blame congress for everything.... We are hearing it since 2014 and its boring now. Say something new.
No one needs 15 lacs from Modi it was a FAKE promise for elections. People know that much by now.
If congress involved in corruption the lesson has been taught drastically. From 180 seats they were thrown down to 45 seats and lost state elections as well.

Now its the turn of BJP... You have ZERO development in your 4 years and to add on to that you are blind on corruptions taking place under the nose of PM Modi. PM's friends are involved in corruptions. Nirav Modi, Lalit Modi, Malya, Vyapam, Chikki Scam, Solar Scam, Adani Scam, Rafael Deal Scam - the list goes on......

So basically no one is cleansed with milk here. All have black spot and hands are dirty with corruption and its turning ugly now for BJP due to their heavy weight promises. Congress has been taught a lesson and now its time for BJP very soon.

I see BJP supporter’s blame CONG at fault in issuing various loans/fake MOU's...etc! Ok let’s accept that but anyone can for GOD sake explain us (Proud Indians) why BJP wanted power or why people have voted BJP? Whether to end/control corruption or increase corruption? Before 2014 election BJP knew that CONG had issued several loans without proper audit paper work and that’s what BJP’s agenda was in 2014 election campaign to curb corruption!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and now question remained whether or not BJP had made any serious efforts to verify all wrong doing by previous Govt/CONG and if BJP claims that they have done and now very/very serious question in all citizen’s (irrespective of which political party they are supporting) mind how public tax money looted business tycoons unlike Lalith/Mallya/Nirav….etc have succeeded in leaving the country under the nose of BJP Government who’s main aim was to end corruption?????????????. And last one million dollar question on BJP ‘s 2014 election promise agenda – Did BJP managed to bring back crores of black money from overseas banks to deposit 15 lakhs each in poor & middle class citizen’s bank account??????????????!!.

Individual banks have their own checks, balances, and audits. It is naive to think that the PM can control everything and prevent frauds from happening at private institutions.
So, stop blaming Modi or Manmohan for this.
What needs to happen is systematic tightening of rules and laws, building an efficient legal framework, and enhancing international ties and agreements so that convicts can be brought back from foreign countries.
I believe that the country is going in the right direction from the above perspective under Modi.
I am not surprised to see discontent among people. Honestly, who likes Change.

Narendra Modi is the root cause of all scams. What was PMO doing when big bank scams were happening? Finance Ministry and PMO were aware that this country was being looted. They turned a blind eye. They knew that the country is being looted,.
According to CBI FIR, there are a total of 151 LOUs (Letters of Undertaking) in 2017, and the payments were due in 2018.
Modi is puppet of corporate world.

“Talks of a corruption-free India and transparent government have been laid bare in just three years. Farmers are committing suicide as they cannot repay their debts of ₹100 and ₹500, but here people have absconded [after swindling] lakhs of crores.”
“Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s election slogan ‘Na khaunga, na khane dunga’ proved ineffective in this case. An FIR had been lodged against Nirav earlier. How did he then manage to go to Davos and meet PM Modi, along with other industrialists?”
The Enforcement Directorate (ED) swung into action and sealed Nirav Modi’s properties only after he had left the country.
The politicians like Chhagan Bhujbal and Lalu Prasad Yadav were behind bars in corruption cases, but liquor baron Vijay Mallya and Nirav Modi have fled the country from right under the nose of the government.
Billionaire businessman Nirav Modi had deposited Rs 90 crore in the scam-hit PNB hours before Prime Minister Narendra Modi had made the shock announcement on demonetisation on 8 November 2016.
This claims assume significance given that the PM has time and again said that no one was informed about his demonetisation plan.
In the last week, India’s public sector banking system has been rocked by a series of defaults – prompting allegations of crony capitalism and corruption by import driven and family-led businesses. These companies have links through marriages to the Ambani and Adani families.
The BJP received the lion’s share – Rs 705.81 crore which swept to power in 2014, got money from 2,987 corporate donors. The bulk of BJP’s funds came from trusts and business houses dealing in real estate, mining, manufacturing, oil and power, construction, exports/imports among others.
When PM Modi's 'ab ki baar bank loot sarkar' is going to speak? Let him prove his government is earning 'Seedha Rupaiya'. How long will BJP let 'Bharat Mata' get robbed?

What bank auditors are doing on that time..go on issuing MOU one after another without any guarantee..
How one can establish MOU when first amount not paid
Nirva Modi first approached State Bank of India but staff.informed lunch time as such they are safe with not looted 11000 crores.

    Dear Cave Dweller,

No accountability, ownership or transparency. Hollow comments, no substance, just blame everyone else for poor governance and utter failures by Finance Ministry.

In 2013 Modi was shouting about his plans for clean governance , just went to sleep along with Finance Minister, no accountability on failures.

Interestingly, Andh Bakhts are joining the chorus of Jaitley and Feku / Daku to please themselves and blaming on others, like auditors and those who no longer in power for 4 years . Where is SIT for such failures?

    Cheers..
