Gauri Lankesh murder: SIT team in Mangaluru to probe Naveen nexus

Daijiworld Media Network - Mangaluru

Mangaluru, Mar 4: A Special Investigation Team (SIT) has arrived Mangaluru to verify the background of Naveen Kumar, the person arrested in the murder of Gauri Lankesh case.

Naveen is believed to have spent many years in Mangaluru and the SIT hopes to get valuable leads. Meanwhile, another team has left to a neighbouring state as supposedly Naveen had convinced four men to train in using firearms as his religious mentor from a neighbouring state had sought their help in fighting a battle.

Naveen, from Maddur in Mandya district, was arrested by the Central Crime Branch sleuths on February 18 from the Kempegowda Bus in Bengaluru. He had with him over 15 rounds of cartridges of .32 calibre. He was taken into custody for questioning and later a case was filed with the jurisdictional Upparpet police under Sections 3 and 25 of the Arms Act.

On Friday, SIT officials took him into custody for seven days to ascertain his possible role in the Gauri murder case.

Some sources have told Times of India, that Naveen has made a confession and the same is submitted in a sealed envelope to the court. The details of the confession are not revealed.

Meanwhile, villagers in and around Kollegal and Chamarajanagar identified Naveen as a ‘Mangaluru man’ from photographs shown to them by investigators and said that four men accompanied him last year. It is believed that the firearm training took place around the forests surrounding Kollegal.

The villagers told SIT investigators that Naveen and the other four travelled in Maruti Omni and survived eating snacks from petty shops. The villagers recollected that the gang was generous in tipping shopkeepers and one said that they left Rs 200 as tip for a bill of Rs 300.

Sources said the SIT investigators have credible information about the involvement of Naveen and the other four in Gauri’s murder.

Gauri Lankesh was murdered on September 5, 2017, by unknown assailants outside her Rajarajeshwari Nagar residence. The SIT that has been probing the case for nearly six months.

A reward of Rs 10 lac had also been announced for leads that lead to the arrest of the murderers. According to reports, the police have investigated over 200 people in this case so far.

Congress in Karnataka has missed two golden opportunity to review its political fortunes. First not appealing against the bail of NAMO Naresh in RTI activist murder. Secondly Ramachandra mutt Bharti disciple murder case.
If this two case have properly investigated the fortune of Congress would have commandingly improved in four districts namely Mangalore, Udupi, Chikmagalur and Uttara kannada. It should have made national headlines due its link to the PM Modi's campaign in 2014 elections.

Late Gauri Lankesh and Kalburgi belongs to 'Lingayat' religion wanted to separate identity for their own religion. Her last article on 'Lingayat- Veerashaiva' is the worrying fact for Sangh parivar existence in Karnataka who are also majority voters of BJP. So it is very important to put break on Lankesh which has come as contract killing through its loose outfits.

Opportunity don't come very often. But Congress has lost the first two. If the party is serious to end the Hindutva to put a stop it is the last chance. I am sure Mangalore Congress senior leaders who are close nexus with the Sangh Parivar will end the case as Namo Naresh.
Instead of Congress President Rahul Gandhi temple visits, he should identity RSS in Congress first. If he is serious legacy of Nehru will be return soon.

We don't need all this half baked information. We can guess which is the group involved but we do not have all the specifics. When the full investigation is over please let us know your full findings and there is no need for all this sensational briefings. What you are saying may be true, but what we want is the whole truth to come out.

Just also arrest all those who celebrated her murder. Let other live peacefully while they can have fun behind bars. All said and done, even if it is proved that our politicians are directly involved in murder, still there is considerable size of the electorate voting for these criminals and murderers. Do we have the wisdom to say that we won't vote for criminals in the coming elections. Honestly most of them won't.

The SIT is as clueless as the HM . As peridicted earlier, the timing of the arrest , just couple of weeks before the election . The SIT team has arrested a rowdy sheeter as a scape goat and some how or the other synch the murder to the 'right wings' by finding couple of more Bakras. This will ensure that the public attention that is currently on Nallapad is deviated to Gauri. Typical KHANgress style.
