Mangalore, Aug 20: 'Saanidhaya Sankocha' a special prayer will be performed at Yelluru Shree Vishweshwara Temple, Padubidri here on Tuesday August 21 between 10.02 am and 12.07 pm.
Saanidhya Sankocha will be performed led by Vedamurthi Gururaja Tantri and Paryaya Tantri Vedamurthi Kenja Shridar Tanthi. In preparation to the programme Mahaganayaga, Vaasthu Raakshogna and Shaanthi prayaschitha Yaga and a special prayer will be performed on August 19, 20 and 21.
Home minister Dr V S Acharya, Kaup MLA Lalaji Mendon, Karnataka Rajyothsava Awardee B R Shetty and Shekar B Shetty will be the chief guests. According to press release from temple renovation Committee president Y Prafulla Shetty, state religious endowment minister Krishnaiah Shetty will preside over the function.
He stated that more than 18,000 devotees will participate in the programme. He also announced that Brahma Kalashotsava of the temple will be held from March 4 to 12, 2009. The renovation of the temple has been carried out at an estimated cost of Rs 6 crore.
