Mangalore, Aug 21: "Kannada language has been struggling to stabilize its existence in Dakshina Kannada district than elsewhere in the State. Kannada is being destroyed by the waves of globalization," said M B Sadashiv, presidential candidate for Dakshina Kannada district Kannada Sahitya Parishat election to be held on Sunday August 24.
Speaking at a press conference here on Thursday August 21, he said that SEZ, illusion of IT hub and British culture among new generation of the district have endangered the culture of Dakshina Kannada.
Requesting the voters to choose him as president of DK KSP, Sadashiva said, "It is the need of the hour to create new atmosphere of Kannada language. Parishat should be creative. Kannada requires universal leadership to lift its respect in the world."
