Mysuru, Mar 25: Seven rebel MLAs from JD(S) on Sunday March 25 joined the Congress in the presence of All India Congress Committee (AICC) president Rahul Gandhi here.

Zameer Ahmed Khan, Ramesh Bandisiddegowda, N Cheluvarayaswamy, Akhanda Srinivasmurthy, Bheema Naik, Iqbal Ansari and H C Balaskrishna joined the Congress in a public meet held at Maharaja College grounds here.

BBMP former mayor Venkatesh Murthy, who was in the BJP, also joined the Congress on the occasion.

Chief minister Siddaramaiah, Congress Karnataka in-charge K C Venugopal and other leaders welcomed the new entrants into the party.

The rebel legislators, who were earlier suspended by the JD(S) for defying the party's whip and cross-voting for Congress during the 2016 Rajya Sabha polls, had claimed to have voted in favour of Congress candidate G C Chandrasekhar in the Rajya Sabha polls in Karnataka.

Khan is a three-time MLA from Chamrajpet assembly constituency, Murthy represents Pulakeshinagar assembly segment in north-east Bengaluru and Ansari, the Gangavathi constituency in Koppal district.

Balakrishna, Bandisiddegowda and Naik are respectively the MLAs from Magadi constituency in Ramanagara district, Srirangapatna constituency in Mandya district and Hagaribommanahalli constituency in Ballari district.

..i am sure senior original state leaders not happy with it, they wont approve it..its not strategy of strengthening party infact its strategy of Siddu to tighten his grip in the party..infact Siddu all the way blackmailed party with the support of these JDS MLAs..lets not forget that out of 7 MLAs minimum 3 are minister post aspirant, men like Jameer can stoop any level in public to get his work done..poor original Congis has no say since Congress high command has no strength left to give orders..

EVERYTHING LOOKS GOOD, BUT ONE AMONG THEM ALWAYS IN FRONT WITH VERY BAD NAME, SHOULD BE AVOIDED TO BE AMONG THEM, THEN CONGRESS CAN DEFEAT ANY PARTY.

BJP without being single largest party forming government in Goa....is it not paisa fekho MLA kharidho? Also, without having numbers joining the governments...is it not paise ka khel? Everyone knows who will form next government in Karnataka. Modi wave won't work in Karnataka as Karnataka voters are smart enough to judge what is right and what is wrong. However there are some fools who still vote for BJP. Hope they will be enlightened before the elections.
