Bengaluru: Siddaramaiah's Lingayat ploy aimed at denying CM's post to Yeddy, says Shah

From Our Special Correspondent
Daijiworld Media Network - Bengaluru

Bengaluru, Mar 26: BJP National President Amit Shah, who is on his latest visit to Karnataka, while embarking on a programme to visit the major religious Mutts of the politically powerful Lingayat community, accused Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah for suddenly recognising the separate religion and minority status to the community only to deny the party’s State President B S Yeddyurappa from becoming the Chief Minister.

"This Siddaramaiah government has brought this proposal, not because it has love for Lingayats but to prevent Yeddyurappa from becoming Chief Minister," Shah said addressing a convention of Coconut Growers here.

Without directly clarifying whether he and the ruling BJP at the Centre would approve or reject the proposal submitted by Siddaramaiah’s Congress government, he merely mentioned that the UPA regime led by Dr Manmohan Singh had rejected the proposal in 2013.

"I want to tell the Karnataka people that if BJP wins by majority, we will make Yeddyurappa the Chief Minister," he declared.

The BJP National President said Siddaramaiah government had suddenly propped up the issue with a view to create confusion among the people and divide the Lingayat community on religious lines as Yeddyurappa, being a Lingayat, enjoys mass following among the community

Shah said the people of the state will not be fooled by Siddaramaiah's divide-and-rule politics and will teach a befitting lesson.

Lashing out at AICC President Rahul Gandhi, the BJP President said Rahul Gandhi should first point fingers at Siddaramaiah for dividing people before accusing BJP for the same.

Comparing Siddaramiah's divide-and-rule politics to the British policy when they ruled India, he said such divide and rule tactics will not work.

"The Congress ship is sinking and to save it, the party is making its last efforts," he said and asked: "What it is doing? It is making efforts to divide people."

The Congress Chief Minister is playing a la divide-and-rule politics of Britishers, he said.

Shah also criticized Siddaramiah government for not bringing the proposal earlier.

"The Siddaramaiah government has proposed to accord religion and minority status to Lingayats now. But why did it not do it earlier? Because earlier, there was no need for gaining votes," he said.

He also launched a scathing attack on Siddaramaiah government for failing to prevent farmers' suicide in the State.

"In five years of Siddaramaiah's rule as many as 3,781 farmers have committed suicides. I want to ask the government, who is responsible for these suicides?" he asked.

Shah said the suicides of farmers in Congress-ruled states are always in the increase, whereas it dwindles in BJP-ruled states like Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat.

"In BJP-ruled states farmers' suicides are next to nothing," he claimed and said in Congress ruled States, the suicide of farmers increases and decreases in BJP-ruled states.

Shah said: "If you vote Yeddyurappa to become Chief Minister, I assure you farmers' suicides will come to a halt."

" In Democracy you get what you deserve". This saying aptly applies to Indian democracy.
None of the Indian question these politicians (All party), about the secrete mantra they have to make quick money. They never question poor roads/infrastructure/development/loot/red-tapism /bureaucracy. But they are definitely concerned about caste/creed/religion and vote accordingly ! Where is secularism ?

Amit Shah was made Chanakya by none other than many paid tv channels , news papers and social media. It was nothing but a hype created by many paid anchors, reporters , journalists and IT cells run by BJP. In BJP itself majority of the leaders dont accept Yedyurappa as future CM if BJP comes to power. Suresh Kumar is a honest person but corrupt BJP party doesnt give him a chance. Amit Sha's strategy will be a total failure. He visits only Hindu families and distances himself from Muslims. So why should we elect such biased and communal minded people to power? If BJP projects clean person like Suresh Kumar then they may get more seats. Otherwise less than 80 seats inspite of tv channels' and news papers false propoganda. In Congress they have Mallikarjuna Kharge, G. Parameshawar,D.K.Shivkumar and other able leaders apart from CM Siddaramayya.

Where was this Amit Shah ? Now how come he suddenly concerned and started talking about farmers, areca growers?

BJP has no credibility in Karnataka nor they have any tall leaders. So PM Modi, Amit Shah, Prakash Javdekar, Pius Goel and others visiting Karnataka very often. Look at that central minister Anantha Kumar Hegde. He has been insulting Gauri Lankesh and her fans. This man doesnt deserve to be a MP, leave alone minister. Amit Sha once said, for him politics means business! So should people of Karnataka trust this man? Running after Swamijis and visiting temples will not work. People of Karnataka will never vote BJP again. People of Karnataka will vote for Congress once again. Yedyurappa, Eswarappa, Shobha Karandlaje or Anantha Kumara Hegde cant defeat Siddaramayya. Amit Sha's magic wont work here in Karnataka. He speaks of murders in Karnataka, why he is not speaking about the murders that took place in Rajasthan, UP, Madhya Pradesh, Haryana etc?

It is not Siddu who is denying CM post to Yadiyurappa, but it is your Brahmin brigade of RSS which is playing games through Eshvarappa to deny CM post to Yadiyurappa and impose a Brahmin CM on Karnataka like they did in Haryana & Maharashtra.

Either Telugu Brahmin Anantkumar or Havik Brahmin Anant Hegde will become CM of Karnataka if BJP wins. Yadiyurappa will get same treatment like Advani in BJP. Just see the horrible fate of S M Krishna after he surrendered to BJP.

The Raul Vinci Khan led Khangress will use every single tactics they have in their bags to do if even if it to stoop low as possible and fool Lingayat community by promising them minority status this only proves that they defenatly are not confident of beating BJP in Karnataka elections . Having said that, I do not agree with AS stand on 'yediyurappa' as the PM. This is the only trump card that KHANgress is playing in the state that has also made them a bit confident of victory.

    Mr. AB(C)D
Only Shah and Modi can stop him to become CM in either way. If BJP wins the duo will choose someone else as CM and if they lose the elections blame will be on your Yeddi. These two are Baniyas from Gujarat and not from Tamilnadu or Karnataka. They know only business and profit. Loss goes to others like you and me.
Unless a new generation comes with non-corrupt ideas, India will not shine. You have to stay in Los Angeles for ever and dream about India "when my India will become like your place".
