Siddaramaiah, JD(S) to receive biggest poll shock from old Mysuru region: Amit Shah

Mysuru, Mar 31 (PTI): BJP president Amit Shah today said he expected Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and the JD(S) to get the "biggest shock of their lives" from the old Mysuru region in the May 12 Assembly polls, though his party was "a bit weak" there.

"It is said that the BJP is a bit weak here (Old Mysuru region), but after seeing the work of the party workers, I expect Siddaramaiahji and the JD(S) to get the biggest shock of their lives from this (Old) Mysuru region," he said while addressing the party's "Nava Shakti Samavesha" rally here.

Shah today began his tour of the old Mysuru region, where the BJP had not won even a single seat in the previous election.

He is scheduled to cover Mysuru, Chamarajanagara, Mandya and Ramanagara districts during his two-day trip.

Of the 26 Assembly seats in the four districts, considered a Vokkaliga heartland, the BJP had not won even a single one in the 2013 Karnataka Assembly polls.

Moreover, the region is the home turf of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, who hails from Mysuru.

The contest in old Mysuru is mainly between the Congress and the Janta Dal (Secular), led by former prime minister H D Deve Gowda.

Shah said it was the BJP, and not the JD(S), which had the ability to throw out the Siddaramaiah-led Congress government as Deve Gowda's party would only secure "a very few seats here and there".

"The Congress cannot take Karnataka on the path of development any further because its image has been soiled with corruption and the JD(S) does not have the ability to overthrow the Congress because it can only win a few seats here and there," he said.

Shah asked the people of Mysuru to make a choice between a "commission government" and a government which would take Karnataka on the path of development.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi had, at a recent rally, described the Siddaramaiah government as "a 10 percent commission government".

Shah said his party did not only want to replace Siddaramaiah with Yeddyurappa as the chief minister but also bring in a change to take Karnataka on the path of development for the youth, women, Dalits and Adivasis.

Referring to his gaffe at Davangere earlier this week, Shah said though he had committed a mistake in his speech while referring to Siddaramaiah's corruption, the people of the state would not do the same because they knew Siddaramaiah's rule well.

"Siddaramaiah and Rahul Gandhi were very happy over my gaffe while speaking about Siddaramaiah's corruption. I had made a mistake, but the people of Karnataka will not make it because they have understood Siddaramaiah's government very well," he said.

In a slip of the tongue at a press conference at Davangere while attacking the Siddaramaiah dispensation as the "most corrupt" one, Shah had said the Yeddyurappa government would get the number one award in corruption.

He had, however, corrected himself after being prompted by BJP MP Prahlad Joshi, who was seated next to him.

Shah also accused Siddaramaiah of playing with Karnataka's pride by not celebrating the "Jayanti" of noted Kannada poet Kuvempu or renowned engineer Sir M Vishveswaraiah.

"Siddaramaiah only remembers to celebrate the Jayanti of Tipu Sultan (the 18th-century ruler of Mysore) to get votes," he said.

Both Congress and JD(S) should take cognisance of this open threat from BJP party president Amit Shah.
In his last Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh meeting in Nagpur headquarter Amit Shah has said openly that BJP will Karnataka like Gujarat even Election commision is yet to announce date.
    Below are the some of the recommendations I would request Congress and JD(S) ;
    1. For Karnataka assembly elections at all booth levels VVPAT should be counted openly before all party representatives.
    2. If EVM and VVPAT is mismatched and not tallying with the voters list, assembly seat should considered 'null and void' and re elections should be held through ballot boxes.
    3. Election commission of India should prove in all party meeting in front of International technical expertise and volunteers 'microchip' installed on EVM's are full proof.
4.There are 18 lakh muslim voters are missing in the coming assembly election. All missing voters should be included before the last date of nomination closure.
    5. Election Commission of India in written should furnish details how it verifies contestants 'affidavit', which has several discrepancies in the past?
6.If EVM is rigged or malfunctioned during the voting process the ECI should be accountable and that constituency should go for reelection through ballot boxes.
    7. All the EVM should be wifi proof from the date of voting to the result date.
    8. In Gujarat elections 'Salami Fraud' is evident were winning margin is very less and the 'NOTA' is more than Congress candidates vote. If in pre poll survey voters are against BJP how the Congress votes are less than NOTA?
    9. No EVM's with serial number used in Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh and Tripura should be used in Karnataka.
    10. At least 50% of the EVM should be tested before all party representatives and mass media at least three times before the actual voting.
    11. If any candidate is found 'poll code violation' he should be debarred from contesting elections.
    12. No ticket for cross party.
    Jai hind

Largely most people are absolutely fedup of Modi led BJP, which is giving them shock after shock. Their hopes related to BJP, initially changed to illusions and now a worse night mare they can never imagined. No jobs, no money, rising costs, corruption and now to add communal tensions. They are simply fedup.

    Amit Shah, is a master manipulator and can do anything to achieve win. There are many ways to steal a win using malpractice as we all know;
    1. Erase voters name from the list who are most likely to vote against BJP.
    2. Add fugitive voters who are to vote for BJP.
    3. Buying poll agents from opposition parties, who then collude to get maximum votes polled.
    4. A brain-washed EC official who knows to spin votes.
    5. Faulty EVM machines.

Now that EC officials credibility itself is in question after the leak, anything can happen.

Amit Shah's visit to Karnataka has been an unmitigated disaster to the BJP. Therefore it would be wise for him to return back to Delhi and ponder whether PM Modi's visit will be any better.
If BJP loses Karnataka after Modi's campaign then there is distinct possibility that BJP may not even make it to the finishing line in 2019.

These BJP politicians are making trips all over Indian States and that too Karnataka many times as if its a annual vacation. Is this their real job a politician ? What will be their real contributions or achievements with regard to development of country? These guys have no work in Delhi or Parliament? They even are not bothered that whole state is watching them. They are trying to bring down Siddaramayya's government to any cost and extent but only in vain. They can't even dream BJP in Karnataka. Siddaramayaa is the only CM who successfully completed 5 year term in 40 years in Karnataka. That shows how able is. Even people from gulf are with him .GOOD LUCK

In fact the C,M will not only win with a thumping majority but also complete another full term and Karnataka can have some peace and prosperity.
