Shivamogga: Eshwarappa relieved after Yeddyurappa's announcement on party ticket

Daijiworld Media Network - Shivamogga (SP)

Shivamogga, Apr 1: Defeat in the last Assembly election, bitter enmity with state BJP president, B S Yeddyurappa, and competition from several party men had put a question mark on the prospects of former deputy chief minister and leader of the opposition in the legislative council, K S Eshwarappa, getting sparty ticket from the local constituency.

However, with the announcement made by Yeddyurappa that Eshwarappa would be fielded as BJP candidate from the local city Assembly constituency, both Eshwarpapa and his followers are elated.

The issue of ticket for this constituency had been creating problems for the party leadership since the last some months. BJP national president, Amit Shah, appears to have succeeded through his midnight mediation to address the differences between these two senior leaders. The talks were held at the residence of Eshwarappa.

Speaking to media persons, Yeddyurappa said that Eshwarappa would be fielded by the party as per the instructions of Amit Shah. He said that district BJP president, S Rudre Gowda, whose name was under consideration for this Assembly constituency, will be fielded by the party as a candidate for legislative council.

He clarified that Amit Shah had assured that the party will keep in mind the services rendered by Rudre Gowda to the party all these years.
