Mangaluru: BJP goof-up - Prathibha Kulai complains about misuse of her picture

Mangaluru, Apr 3: The state BJP, continuing in the line of multiple blunders committed by its national and state level leaders in the recent past, committed faux pas by wrongly publishing the photo of state Congress women's wing secretary and city corporator, Prathibha Kulai, in one of its pamphlets.

Unless the party puts together its act and ensures that such wrongs are not repeated, these mistakes might prove costly to its poll prospects.

A 'charge sheet' published by the BJP by way of pamphlet and released by union minister, Ravishankar Prasad, has several allegations against the Congress party. The charge sheet mentions that women corporators of Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) too do not have protection, pointing out that sari worn by JD(S) corporator, Manjula Narayanaswamy, had been pulled. It says that BJP corporator, Mamata Vasudev, is facing harassment regularly in the hands of supporters of MLA, Muniratna, and that false cases are being hoisted. In spite of these things, Congress leaders are turning a blind eye, the pamphlet says, which in addition, also contains several other allegations.

Perhaps by oversight, the party has published the photograph of city corporator , Prathibha Kulai, instead of BBMP corporator. Moreover, this photo has been captured from the video clip aired by a television channel.

Prathibha has since filed complaint with the city police commissioner. She has sought action against Ravishankar Prasad, B S Yeddurappa, and Shobha Karandlaje, holding them directly responsible for this blunder and sought legal action against them.
