Bengaluru: Sandalwood actor Kiran Raj accused of cheating girlfriend, arrested

Bengaluru, Apr 4: Sandalwood actor Kiran Raj was arrested by RR Nagar police on Tuesday after his girlfriend; model-actress Yasmin Pathan filed an FIR for cheating her after getting into a physical relationship and assaulting her.

Yasmin, a resident of Mumbai, had first lodged a complaint against the actor in Mumbai, and a subsequent an FIR in Bengaluru. In the complaint she alleged that Kiran Raj had hit her several times on March 29 after being locked up inside her car.

However, she alleged that she managed to escape and returned to Mumbai and filed a complaint against him at a local police station.

Ravi Chennannavar, DCP reacting about the case, said that the accused Kiran had met Yasmin in Mumbai during one of his shoots. Later they started dating and were in a live-in relationship for the past five years. It is also alleged that the accused had promised to marry her. Recently when she asked him to marry her, he reportedly refused and also physically assaulted her.

DCP further said that Kiran Raj has been arrested and he is being questioned. He has been subjected to medical test at Victoria Hospital and will be produced in court.

Kiran plays a lead role in Kannada series 'Kinnari' and male protagonist in the upcoming Kannada movie 'Asathoma Sadgamaya'.

    They had physical relationship. ..then he cheated. ..so its a cheating case. Not a rape case or physical harm...? They never mentally had relationship. Anyone can guess this case, is either INFATUATION, or misuse of IPC section 420. If female side is little careful about our Chocolate boy, nothing could not happened. Why she shared bed with this boy? Both hand together ,will give clap sound. You can't put in thread in a hole of moving sticking pin.

    Live in Relationship is a curse in our Society. Boy and Girl both are responsible for the outcome, at the same time their parents are partly responsible. What a culture ???

    100's of such incidents take place with common man and goes unnoticed.
    Who took advantage on whom? In time of pleasure both are together and time of cinflict man is responsible. First learn to have control!
