Militants abduct civilian in J&K


Srinagar, April 5 (IANS): Militants abducted a civilian from Jammu and Kashmir's Bandipora district, police said on Thursday.

The militants barged into the house of Abdul Gafar Bhat in Hajin area at around 11 p.m. on Wednesday and started beating the inmates, police sources said.

"They later abducted Abdul Gafar Bhat and his son Manzoor Ahmed. However, the father managed to escape. Searches are on to locate the abducted person," the sources added.

On Sunday, militants had abducted and later murdered a civilian in the same area.

Two women and a man were injured in the incident.
