Hiriyanna, Father of Minister Suresh Shetty Passed Away

Mumbai, Aug 28: State minister of medical education Suresh Shetty's father Hiriyanna (85) was passed away at Holy Spirit Hospital, Andheri (East), owing to brief illness, here recently. 

Hiriyanna Shetty was the native of Yellur in Udupi district of Karnataka who was living in metro for many years, has survived by his son minister Suresh Shetty, only daughter and large number of well wishers.

The final rites of his mortal remains were held at Parsiwada crematorium, attended by Mumbai Pradesh Congress Committee chief Kripashankar Singh, local social worker Clive Dias, MLAs Bai Jagtap, Baldev Kosa, Janardhan Chandurkar, Ashok Jadav, Congress leaders Qamaruddin Merchant, Oven Rankon (MP Priya Dutt's husband) Shankar Poojary, Pradesh BJP chief and MLA Gopal C Shetty, BJP leaders Vinod Tavde, Rajesh Sharma, Parag Alvani including several dignitaries.

Indian Hotel and Restaurant Association (AHAR) president Chandrahas K Shetty, JAVAB president N C Shetty, Bunts Sangh Mumbai president Dr P V Shetty, vice president Aikala Harish Shetty, Bombay Bunts Association president lawyer Ashok D Shetty, Okkaliga Samaj Mumbai president Narayan R Gowda, Tunga group of hotels chairman Sudhakar S Hegde including office bearers of various Karnataka organizations have condoled sad demise of veteran Hiriyanna.
