Mangaluru: BJP well-known for playing politics over dead bodies & cows, says Congress

Mangaluru, Apr 7: District Congress spokesperson A C Vinayraj on Saturday, April 7 said that the forthcoming state elections will be a contest between 'development and misrepresentation'.

Addressing a press meet here, Vinayraj said, "Due to BJP's corruption, people supported Congress in the 2013 Assembly elections and brought it back to power in the state. In the past five years, Congress has provided good administration without any corruption. Recently, union minister Arun Jaitley awarded Karnataka for its industrial and overall development.

When the UPA government was in power at the centre, BJP had protested over fuel price and promised to do everything to contain rising prices. During the year 2011-12 when the UPA government was in power, a barrel of crude oil cost $ 139 and a litre of petrol used to cost Rs 64. But now, even though the price of crude oil is low, the price of petrol is Rs 74 per litre. Where are the promises that the NDA government made? Even rubber and areca prices have come down, but the central government does not seem to be bothered. BJP has no moral right to ask for votes. They are well-known known for playing politics over dead bodies and cow.

"It has also come to light that BJP is distributing handbills to every residence which is against the Election Commission's model code of conduct. We will bring it to the notice of the Election Commission and also the deputy commissioner," he said.

Speaking on VHP leader Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat comments against minister U T Khader, Vinayraj said, "Khader is a good leader. Bhat has several cases against him and is on bail. We will list all his cases and see that his bail is cancelled."

Expressing confidence of winning the elections in the district, he said, "Last time we bagged 7 constituencies out of 8. This time, we are confident of winning all the 8 constituencies. BJP is in a confused stage selecting candidates. Such leaders who play hatred and cow politics are not good for the overall development of the district."

    Very true. If there are any deaths for any reason, if the victim is with a Hindu name, then immediately he will become an HIndu Activist and Morchas, dharnas will start loosing business, daily wages of people, livelihoods of people etc etc. Where we are taking this beautiful country??

    People kicked out BJP from Karnataka, for their corruption and arrogance, in previous election. Siddu led Cong govt has showed better maturity and governance standard. Overall development index of Karnataka is much better in comparison to the rest of the state in the country.

    Again in the forthcoming elections we have the same faces of BJP, who people can never forgive or forget. That is BJPs weakness. Further, track record of Modi led BJP central government, is still worse. It is proving clueless and a burden to people. Modi used to be discussed in every talk in the street and praised for 1st year, now if you walk and hear the talks, every one has to say one thing - enchi saavudhana maraya. People voting BJP on their own, chances are weak.

    To make it a contest, BJP will try their best to discredit congress leadership and party through planting some fake news, pushing communal passions. Whether we people get carried on with BJP or whether we stick to the interest of the state, will be tested with election results.
