12 killed in two separate accidents in UP


Agra, Apr 10 (IANS): As many as 12 persons were killed in two separate road accidents in Uttar Pradesh's Agra district, police said.

Both the accidents took place on Monday evening, a police official said.

In the first incident, three persons on a motorbike rammed into a stationary truck on the Agra-Delhi Highway. All three died on the spot, he said.

In another accident, nine persons were killed when the vehicle they were travelling in collided head-on with a truck in Khairagarh area here.

There were over 20 people in the vehicle according to the eye-witnesses, the official said.

Of the nine killed, six died on the spot while three succumbed to injuries in a hospital, he added.
