Make in India: Modi launches country's first all-electric superfast train

Motihari (Bihar), Apr 10 (Deccan Chronicle): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday flagged off of India's first all-electric high-speed locomotive, developed at Madhepura's Electric Locomotive Factory. The train is the first big Make-in-India project completed by Alstom of France.

The electric locomotive, with a 12,000 horsepower engine, will have a maximum speed of 120 km per hour, according to Alstom.

This will be the first of 40 locomotives expected to roll out of the factory by the end of March 2020.

Under the agreement with Alstom, India will get 800 high horsepower electric locomotives over the next 11 years, at a cost of Rs 20,000 crore.

According to Alstom, the all-electric locomotives will aim to bring down operating costs for the Railways and also reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

The Prime Minister was at Motihari in Bihar to attend an event to mark 100 years of Mahatma Gandhi's Champaran Satyagrah with an aim to spread the message of Swachh Bharat.

Modi also laid the foundation stone of a project for doubling of Muzzafarpur-Sagauli (100.6 km) and Sagauli-Valmikinagar sections (109.7 km) along with flagging off the first run of the Champaran Humsafar Express between Katihar and Old Delhi.

The Prime Minister also dedicated the first phase of the factory to the nation.

Approved by the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) in February 2018, the two sections -- Muzzafarpur-Sagauli and Sagauli-Valmikinagar -- are being built at an estimated cost of Rs 2,401 crore and will cover districts of Muzaffarnagar, East Champaran and West Champaran.

The Champaran Humsafar Express will facilitate faster, safer and comfortable journey experience to common man of North Bihar.

The train will run bi-weekly - Tuesdays and Fridays - covering a distance of 1,383 km, according to an official statement.

The loco factory in Madhepura, a joint venture between Indian Railways and French manufacturing firm Alstom, has a capacity to manufacture 110 loco per annum.

The railways has set a target of manufacturing 800 locos (five assembled and 795 manufactured) over a period of 11 years.

Addressing the gathering of about 20,000 cleanliness ambassadors from different parts of the nation who have converged at Motihari, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said, "Rs 6,600 crore worth projects launched today will be a boon to Bihar and Champaran. Projects worth Rs 3,000 crore have been approved to prevent waste dumping in Ganga."

The Prime Minister lauded Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi for the success of the Swachh Bharat Mission in the state. "Bihar was the only state where the scope of hygiene was less than 50 per cent. But after a week's Swachhagraha campaign, Bihar broke that barrier," Modi said.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi said Bihar is the state that transformed Mahatma Gandhi into 'Bapu'.

"Hundred years ago, people from across the country came to Champaran and worked under the leadership of Gandhi. Today, enthusiastic youngsters are working shoulder to shoulder with cleanliness workers," the Prime Minister added.

Congratulating the people of Bihar, 'Swachhagrahis' and the state government, the Prime Minister said, "In the last one week, more than 8,50,000 toilets have been constructed in Bihar. This is a great achievement."

There was a survey and report of the toilets built in Bihar on a prominent news TV. It's nothing else but a large scale scam.

I was shocked to read this. Apparently nobody saw this.

Shocking because Feku has faked to the maximum. Construction of 8,50,000 toilets in one week??! Really??!!! That’s freaking 1.4 toilets per second,!!!!! What the heck! One cannot write the word ‘toilet’ in 1.4 seconds!! Oh man, why do we have this dumbo as the prime minister?? WHY, WHY, WHY??????

I was delighted when I read the first sentence of the news that "Modi launches country's first all-electric superfast train" I was in the opinion that at last India is not far behind China, but finally I understood that the Feku's "SUPERFAST" speed is just 120 km Max. but in reality it will never go beyond 90km on present Tracks!!!!
It is Certain now that Feku is only expert in Hyper Fast JUUMLAGIRI & FEKUGIRI!!!!

36Rafael fighters off the shelf 2014, Modis first deal. India now has to pay 1000cr more for the same planes and the delivery which was supposed to be immediate, yet to reach India. Actually, if Modi honoured UPA negotiated agreement, we could have had 126fighter planes by now, developed in HAL and further, at a lessor cost. Imagine in 36planes we are loosing 36,000 crores, with 126planes nothing less than 100k crore, evenif france gives discount. This is a scam of mega proportion, but our media has exchanged the dictionary meaning of word corruption to development and scam to nationalism.

Bullet train is already running and shall keep running. What kind of bullet train it is with a top speed of 120kms per hour, when the current Rajdhani Express can run with the same speed? BJP knows one thing, when you sell something to fool Indians, use terminalogy that from outer space. People love it, evenif you give bullock-cart eventually, telling them Indian heritage is back.

Mitron Welcome to Fakistan! 8,50,000 toilets built in a week in Bihar. A little deeper look it means, 1,21,429 toilets each day, 5,060 toilets each hour, 84 toilets each minute and 1.4 toilet each second. This is perhaps even faster than at the pace light travels. Fakugiri of highest level. Lage raho Mota bhai. Does he even know what he speaks? Does he at least think once, forget twice, before blatantly lying in public? Atrocious!

Only technology is from France. Out of 800 trains, only 5 will be assembled in the country after importing from France. The remaining 795 trains will be fully manufactured in India. Even your Sanjay Gandhi’s Maruti car was initially manufactured in collaboration with Japanese technology viz. Suzuki.
