Abu Dhabi: Parishioners of St Paul's Church to host 'Konkan Day' on Apr 20

Abu Dhabi, Apr 14: After the highly successful maiden ‘Konkan Day’ celebration last year, the Konkani community of St Paul’s Catholic Church, Musaffah, will host the second ‘Konkan Day’ on April 20 from 11.30 am onwards, at St Francis of Assisi parish hall.

The programme will provide a platform to all Konkani speaking communities across UAE to exhibit their talents especially amongst the growing buds to understand and continue with the culture and traditions.

Holy Eucharist, dance and drama, brunch and lunch, songs and skits, prizes and surprises will be part of the day-long programme.

The organisers expect a successful event and also invite all the Konkani community members to this fun filled special event and day of joy and fun.

    The beauty of freedom truly galore in the land of Abu Dhabi where the Catholic Church of Musaffa can even conduct the "Konkan Day at St. Paul's Church. What a nice privilege for the Konkany speaking parishenors and the rest to enjoy the opportunity to display their talents in Konkany for the benefit of not only the Konkany speaking people but also the rest, and share their joyful moments with the rest.

    These kinds of freedom in a land far away from our own is a true blessing so that during our free time we can improve our cultural talents and display them to our community with a mutual benefit to all. All these privileges will not only help many expatriates to pass their time well but also entertain many others to witness their Konkany talents in the UNITED ARAB EMIRATES.

    Best of luck to all of you. Keep up the good work, and let the community enjoy all that you have to display for the mutual benefit of all.

    Thank you for your encouraging words which is much appreciated and it would further boost our morale to conduct such programs for the growing community. The main aim of Konkan Day is to unite the konkani speaking community in UAE and may our children understand the value of rich heritage and culture .
