Mangaluru: Maxim Lobo (40) ends life, days after alleging 'mental torture' in video

Mangaluru, Apr 15: A 40-year-old man allegedly committed suicide at Kulshekar here late night on Saturday April 14.

The deceased has been identified as Maxim Lobo, a resident of Melthota, Kulshekar.

He allegedly ended his life by hanging himself from his goods vehicle.

Sources said that on Saturday night, he had a quarrel with his wife after which he went out. He did not return home thereafter, and on Sunday April 15, his body was found hanging in the goods vehicle.

On April 11, he had recorded a video of himself stating that he was being mentally tortured by some relatives because of which he wanted to end his life. He sent the video to a cousin who was close to him, but he did not attempt suicide then.

Maxim is survived by his wife Akshata and 6-year-old son Anson. He was a tempo driver by profession.

Police arrived at the spot and the body has been shifted to hospital for postmortem.

A case has been registered in Kankanady police station.

    It is really petty how we matured and intelligent people come to the conclusion that Maxim Lobo has committed suicide due to marital discord. There may be hundred and one reason. In the report it is clearly written that he has faced mental torture from his RELATIVE. Let us pray to God that the truth shall come out fast and the justice shall be done.

    MENTAL TORTURE BY THE FAMILY IS BIGGER THAN FINANCIAL PROBLEMS OR ANY OTHER PROBLEMS. MONEY IS MORE IMPORTANT CONCEPT HAD DEVELOPED, PARTICULARLY WITH LADIES. ONE SHOULD KEEP IN MIND, THE CREATOR KNOWS HOW TO TAKE CARE... POOR GUY... RIP.

    Hope the Police will investigate the real cause for his so called Suicide (?) and punish the REAL culprit who instigated him to take the extreme step OR nail the murderer who cleverly stage managed the incident looking like Suicide. May his soul rest in peace.

    Marriage is a blessing, but can be fulfilling only by renewing of our minds. Both men and women have to understand our role and responsibilities in this God Given institution.     By the look of the scene it might be homicide.
    From less than 6 feet rod of the tempo a person getting hanged seems highly impossible, despite the video sent by him.
    Only forensic evidence & postmortem report will reveal the truth.

    Men and women think differently. I beleive in today's world two things makes men victim is feminism and religious terrorism. Both these things are dangerous to the men on this world. Many men suffer emotionally and end life this ways. Men thinks differenttly and humiliation is hard to bear for men. Women has to think hard on this issue and save thier sons in their future diaster.     Stupid guy. First of all, why did he marry? Quarrel in marriage life is common and in family too. He has left his young wife and son of 6 years old. Did he ever thought, what might be effect of his action on the growth of his son.

    @Herold cunhamangalore,a good question ,why does one marry?to quarrel or has no other work?sure some indifference between the couple is there always .because they both are two individuals.But not everybody is in a situation to take it easy or to solve it.Here this fellow should have thought of his small child,that child needs a fathers help to grow up and give a new try to forget ,go to a specializer or to a friend to solve problem.Poor child he must grow up without father.He could as last solution go elsewhere to forget the matter.He wrote his relatives,not family.so cant say direct his wife was the reason.may his rest in peace.heartfelt sympathy to his family.
