Dubai: CapitalQuotient workshop on personal finance for NRIs on Apr 21

Media Release

Dubai, Apr 16: CapitalQuotient, one of the best known financial advisors in the country, are all set to hold a personal finance workshop at Novotel World Trade Centre on April 21.

The workshop which will be held from 3 pm to 7 pm will be an opportunity for participants to ask the right questions and plan investments from a financial planning stand-point. It also help one to learn more about the common mistakes that NRIs make, overcome them, and how to create financial plan that will eventually lead to financial success.

The entry for the workshop is free. The key speaker will be Sousthav Chakrabarty, founder and CEO of CapitalQuotient. Only 50 seats are available.

Why attend the workshop?

Non-Resident Indians (NRIs) who are based out of Middle East invest majority of their savings back in India. Often NRIs visit India at least once in a year. Their time is exclusively meant to catch up with family and friends. But there is one other person who they also meet – their relationship manager at the bank.

Those working in banks, financial institutions, and wealth management firms, usually have sales targets. And these targets are often defined in terms of revenues that they bring in to their organization.

The problem arises when their revenues become more important than the investors’ need or requirement.

There are countless stories of NRIs being duped with get-rich-quick schemes, dubious or questionable real estate developers offering lucrative prices on properties, so-called guaranteed investment schemes, and of course, a favourite of all bank relationship managers, insurance products.

So why do so many NRIs fall for this?

As human beings have a tendency to trust a person very quickly, especially when they perceive that the other person is going to help them become wealthy.

Once a person invests, 90% of them do not even open the statements and check how the performance has been, what the terms are, and the recurring charges that are being constantly deducted. When they do realise, they look for the next best person who can guide them, without making the one necessary change at their end – ‘Ask the right questions’.

CapitalQuotient believes in unbiased advice backed by an advisory-only model. That means that they do not have any product or sales agenda, nor do they distribute any financial products.
