Mangaluru: Bike skid at Padubidri - youth loses life

Mangaluru, Apr 17: After the wheels of a motor bike that was moving towards Padubidri from the direction of Hejamady skidded, the rider fell to the road and lost his life. This unfortunate incident happened on the evening of Sunday April 15.

The deceased was Kariyappa Krishnappa Kalegar (35), belonging to a Belagavi-based family, who was now a resident of Kanjarkatte near Padubidri. His daughter, Krishnaveni, who was in the pillion, escaped with minor injuries.

After falling down, Krishnappa suffered serious injuries to his head region. He was rushed to a private hospital at Mukka but he died just before reaching the hospital, Padubidri police stated.

The wife of the deceased and her two daughters had left to attend the marriage function of a relative at Belagavi. Krishnappa and Krishnaveni too were to leave for Belagavi on Tuesday. The man had taken his daughter to Hejamady to buy clothes for her. The accident happened when the duo was returning home.

Krishnappa used to work for a stone quarry at Kanjarkatte. He was born and brought up here, it is learnt.
