Governance during Maya rule was very efficient: Yogi’s mantri

Lucknow, Apr 19 (TOI): In a major embarrassment to the Yogi Adityanath administration, Uttar Pradesh cabinet minister Swami Prasad Maurya has questioned the government’s efficiency in solving the Unnao rape case involving a BJP MLA and claimed that the governance during the Mayawati-led BSP rule was “very efficient”.

“Mayawati was famous for her administration. She used to keep a close watch on bureaucrats who worked efficiently,” Maurya had told a TV channel on Tuesday.

As his statements went viral, Maurya on Wednesday sought to clarify that he had also pointed out the shortcomings of Mayawati rule. “She was neck deep in corruption,” he said.
