Mumbai, Sep 3: A ceremony to release a book of Konkani play, "Kanchanmrug...Kanchanmrug," was held at the Indirabai Kallianpur Hall, Balakvrind Education Society, Talmakwady, Mumbai, recently.

The book is authored by by theatre artiste the late S Vasant Nadkarni and published by Goa Konkani Akademi. The function was jointly organised by the cultural Wing of Canara Sarasvat Association, Mumbai and Goa Konkani Akademi, Goa.

Inaugurating the book, Nagesh Sonde said, that S Vasant Nadkarni had rendered a great service to the cause of Konkani Theatre. Minin Peres from the ministry of state language, Goa and son of the late authour Bipin Vasant Nadkarni were also present. Pundalik Naik presided over the function.

In the beginning, Kalindi Muzumdar Welcomed. Dr Tanaji Harlankar Goa delivered key note address. Madhu Bhat and Dr Chandrashekar Shenoy spoke about the play and the author respectively.

Part of the drama "Kanchanmrug...Kanchanmrug," was presented by Krishna Chandavarkar, Deepa Savkur, Aparna Nagarkatti and Sweta Kilpady on the occasion.
