Water conservation benefits 150 lakh hectares: Modi


New Delhi, Apr 29 (IANS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday said that water conservation in the last three years have helped about 150 lakh hectares of land.

Speaking in his monthly radio programme 'Mann Ki Baat', Modi said: "In the past three years, efforts have been made for water conservation and management. Apart from the MNREGA budget, Rs 32 crore has been spent every year in this direction.

"Around 150 lakh hectares of land has benefited extensively in the last three years through the many efforts in water conservation and management."
