St Augustine's High School Welcomes Commonwealth Games Torch

Mumbai, Sep 8: The students of St Augustine's High School, belonging to the St Xavier's Group of Education Institutes, welcomed the relay torch o the third Commonwealth Games, on Sunday September 7.



School students held a march-past while the student leader garlanded the torch-bearers as they arrived at Shankaracharya round-about located opposite Nerul railway station, Navi Mumbai. School head teacher Lilly Zakaria, crime branch senior police officer and nation volleyball champion Shalini Sharma, were also present.

The relay torch of Commonwealth Games '08 was flagged-off in New Delhi on August 1 and has reached the metro passing through Pune. Thousands of sports enthusiasts, NGOs, amateur athletes' organizations, and others conveyed their best wishes. Navi Mumbai deputy mayor and speaker Bhiraj Dhar, was also present.
