Bengaluru: PIL on land denotification – Yeddyurappa and Shettar get HC notice

Daijiworld Media Network - Bengaluru (SP)

Bengaluru, May 5: Relating to a public interest litigation (PIL) filed in the high court (HC) seeking to order fresh probe into denotification of land in the city, the state HC has ordered to serve notices on nine persons. Former chief ministers, B S Yeddyurappa and Jagadish Shettar are among the recipients of this notice.

The case relates to denotification of 14 guntas of land in Lottegollahalli near Ring Road in the city. The high court ordered issuance of emergent notices relating to the petition to former deputy chief minister, R Ashok, Bengaluru Development Authority commissioner, principal secretary in the departments of urban development and revenue, and residents of Lottegollahalli, identified as G Shamanna and Ramaswamy. This order was issued by the vacation division bench on Friday May 4.

Lokayukta investigation had been held in this case earlier, and B report had been submitted. Social activist, G V Atri has, through a PIL filed in the HC, sought order from HC for re-investigating the case.

The PIL has been filed at a time when assembly election process is under way. Interestingly, the HC too has ordered issuance of emergent notices in the case.

    DEAR FRIENDS,

FIRST THING IS, WE HAVE TO DEMAND FOR A SYSTEM, WHICH WILL PUNISH THE PEOPLE IN POWER WHO INDULGES IN TO ANYTHING WHICH WILL MAKE THE COUNTRY A LOSS.

IT IS NOT ONE PARTICULAR CASE OR A PERSON INVOLVED, EVERYDAY WE SEE OR READ THROUGH MEDIA A LOT OF THESE THINGS HAPPENING ALL OVER THE COUNTRY.

Karnataka has seen the lowest of politics under BJP.

Corruption, Scandals, Crime, Money power, flourished with political patronage of BJP. People watched it in their own eyes, on their TV screens. We don't need police or judiciary to tell what is truth.

There is nothing changed in the BJP, except for today Modi is openly endorsing them. PM Modi is a monumental failure himself, now endorsing state BJP leadership makes the case clear that there is nothing to expect from BJP except for disaster.

This should have been done years back. When BJP is harassing all Congress persons and Aam Admi persons, and other political rivals by frequent CBI raids and false accusitions , why should Congress behave like "sathya Harishchandra" and keep quiet on such grave issues like Yeddi and Reddy brothers?

CM Siddu's multi pronged approach against the BJP. He is not dependent only twitter. He has many aces up his sleeves upto May 12 and beyond it till govt. formation, fully aware of BJP's policies of offering ladoos to MLA's to switch loyalty. BJP are dealing with a smart, sensible, sharp, battle hardened politician. In Gujarat Congress did not have any leader of the calibre of CM Siddu. Apart from Siddu Congress have many other strong politicians in the state too.
My earlier reply comments to Nd, Pune were :
"Don't worry CM Siddu is from a rural background. A true son of the soil. He has his ears to the ground. He has a multi pronged approach and is mainly focused on the ground reality to which he is very alert and constantly in touch with. In addition he has taken to twitter to prevent Modi and the rest of the BJP from hijacking the narrative for the sake of urban voters. Keeping the narrative in favour of the Congress or at least not allowing the BJP or JDS hijack/steal it, is vital for gaining momentum to swing public opinion is one's favour especially with undecided voters as election day approaches.".
