If people hesitate, tie and get them to polling booths to vote for BJP: Yeddyurappa

Daijiworld Media Network - Belagavi

Belagavi, May 5: Karnataka BJP president and chief ministerial candidate B S Yeddyurappa has triggered a controversy with his statement asking his party workers to forcibly make people vote for the BJP.

Yeddyurappa was campaigning in Kittur for BJP candidate Mahantesh Basavantaray. While addressing the party workers, he said, "Go to every house and if you find people who do not want to vote, tie their hands and legs and bring them to the polling booths to vote for Mahantesh." The crowd is heard cheering him on.

However, his statement that opposes an Indian citizen’s democratic right of freely choosing its leader has drawn backlash from people.

The video was shared by Kannada channels on Twitter.

"He is threatening before election, just imagine after election. He is all set to threaten the citizen and loot the Karnataka wealth again. Beware !!" reads a comment in response to the video.

"Excuse me ??? Let him try ! This kind of bullying gundaism is not acceptable..," said another Twitter user.

One netizen tagged Bengaluru police in her tweet, saying, "This person @BSYBJP is threatening physical assualt on public and intimidation of the public. This is not free and fair elections. Please take preventive actions."

Where all the respectful ladies are hiding; ladies like nirmala Sethuraman, , Smriti Irani , Shobakka . Treat the citizens like dogs, men and ladies alike, chain them like dogs and drag them to the booth to vote for BJP!!!!! This is the BJP culture for over 70 years. Least said the better. Beware the citizen of India, India is going to dogs.

The BJP cannot come up with constructive strategies no matter how hard they try. Here, you have the BJP CM candidate suggesting the option of kidnapping those who don't go out to vote.

People of Karnataka know what to expect if he is the CM. Most wanted people under the expert guidance of tadipar at work

Constantly harming democracy, harming institutions, harming true Indian culture, and now, they threaten to harm voters. BJP is nothing but a party of Anti Nationals!
As per the PROVISIONS OF LAW RELATING TO OFFENCES AND CORRUPT PRACTICES IN CONNECTION WITH ELECTIONS

Without prejudice to the generality of the provisions of sub-section(1), whoever- (a) threatens any candidate or voter, or any person in whom a candidate or voter is interested, with injury of any kind is violation Section 171C/171F Indian penal Code Sec 125 of the Representation of the People Act, 1951 and Section 153A of the IPC is Cognizable 3 years imprisonment or fine or both.

Is Election Commision of India Karnataka incharge will remain 'mute' like PM Modi or will it act for threatening the voters?
Why none of the parties or citizen of Karnataka has lodged criminal complaint against former CM Yeddyurappa?

It is not only be improper, it would be perilous and disastrous to vote for Yeddyurappa. We all know how he had looted the state and been sent to jail for his corrupt practices, now we know how harmful his mind is. Keep him at arm's length.

PM Modi is a Monumental Failure in all departments. That is the reason why look at his speeches, he can speak only on generality. Congress looted nation, one family, but not coming up with ONE THING, that BJP done.

He knows he is utter failure. Further, endorsing Yeddy and Reddy, as his athiratha and maharatha to win elections, he let the people know what Modi led BJP desires India to be. Corrupt, underdeveloped like UP and Bihar.

Even a blind and deaf wont vote this party anymore. One really has to really hate India continuing in the path of progress and development , to vote for BJP for sure. May 15th will tell the world what India will be for next 10years, whether a market place for corruption and crime under BJP or much civilized. Hope that good sense prevails and people make their informed choices, ensuring BJP defeat.

To be honest, Modi has brought a culture of intolerance, violence and atrocious behaviour in the minds of people. Tamils and Keralite very rightly and ruthlessly opposed him and his chela Amit Shah the architech. They now want to ruin KARNATAKA. Pray that our people remain literate enough to understand the croockedness behind MODI's rallies.

Think about it - if BJP was in such a strong position why MODI is living in MANGALORE to support them. Why Shah is in KARNATAKA. These guys did enough in Gujarat and now they are exporting their troubles from there to other states, sadly.

Request the people of Karnataka to think twice before voting BJP to power. Four years of their rule has destroyed INDIA. Looters have increased, Bank funds have dried, ATMs empty, youth are jobless, rapes are multiplied in all BJP ruled states. What they havve done for KARNATAKA.
