'Propaganda ahead of Karnataka polls': MLA Aditi slams rumours of wedding with Rahul

New Delhi, May 6: Over the past couple of days, rumours have been rife regarding Congress president Rahul Gandhi's 'marriage' with Rae Bareli MLA Aditi Singh. Some of the media even went to state that the marriage had been 'fixed'.

Rae Bareli MLA Aditi Singh has hit out at rumour mongers and said that it is nothing but a propaganda ahead of the Karnataka elections.

"My wedding with Rahul Gandhi is propaganda in wake of the Karnataka elections. The intention appears to distract Congress leadership and workers who are toiling in Karnataka. And it is anyone's guess on who could be behind it," she told Times of India.

Taking to Twitter to vent her frustration on rumours of her wedding with Rahul Gandhi, the 29-year-old, tweeted in Hindi, which translates to: "I am upset that fake news is making rounds on social media regarding my wedding with Rahul Gandhi. Rahul Gandhi ji is like an elder brother to me. I tie rakhi to him. This is a mere rumour. Those behind the rumour must mind themselves."



Photographs showing Rahul Gandhi with Aditi Singh and their families with captions such as 'Rahul Gandhi has finally found a match' were doing rounds on social media including WhatsApp on Saturday.

Clarifying to the photos with the Gandhi family, she said that her family has been close to them since a long time and the photos are of one such meet.


Sharing news which carried her clarification, Aditi tweeted again “Such rumours upset me. I would like to clarify that Rahul Ji is my rakhi brother and I am really saddened by such rumours on social media”.

She then continuously started retweeting news items that carried her clarification.

Aditi is the daughter of five-time MLA from Rae Bareli Sadar seat Akhilesh Pratap Singh. A management graduate from Duke University in US, Aditi entered politics in 2017 and won with a vote margin of over 90,000 votes. She is said to be close to Priyanka Gandhi Vadra.

    Nowadays BJPams trying to mock congressi and its bouncing back to them. Bhandarkarji you are surprised about the number of Batchelours in BJP or age of Rahul, at least he has not cheated anybody marrying and abandoning or having chori chupe affairs like other party guys doing .

    Who said that the other party is full of saints? Don't we all know?

    Be fair and not biased...is my policy.

    Now Bernard Shaw's story is not cooked up by me.

    Some days back I got a message asking why these 3 big parties were not concentrating on providing free health and quality education to all in the State?
    A valid question..I felt...
    Why won't these people provide..Tell me? For these are the very people who have commercialised Education and Health care.
    These people will never ban liqour. For in these three are the 'Money Bags'...
    Got the gist??
    And we fall over each other and fight among ourselves stupidly while these people laugh their way to the banks..all at our cost...
    So whenever you get an opportunity without being 'BLIND' speak out...
    At least this way make a start...
    Now ..no matter who rules YOUR LIFE is never going to change....

    Leaving ones wife is not sacrifice, but torture on the female who is your wife. She has to mange herself and you roam the world. That is more shame than this rumour.

    somebody has to do that to get the country out of the mess which one party has pulled it.... many great leaders have done it..if you are not aware. It's not torture on the female , it's the view you some mean minded people like you have. Many parties have done otherwise, collating millions of money property on their wife's name, children's name... but here it's not happening like that. Wife is leading a normal life where as husband is scarifying entire day and life to the country... unfortunately, people like you will not understand all these principles... to understand the same, you need to be disciplined... looks u r not.

    The BJP which idolises RSS Guru Savarkar who proponent "Rape is Also a Weapon of Ideology" even brother and sister relations are also in question.
