Mangaluru: Kerala woman in house arrest at BJP leader's home rescued

Daijiworld Media Network - Mangaluru (SP)

Mangaluru, May 7: City police have rescued a woman, who is a native of Kerala state, from her illegal house arrest from the city. Reportedly she was in illegal confinement in a BJP leader's home located within the limits of Barke police station here.

Reportedly the lady, living in Thrissur, Kerala, had fallen in love with a youth there. Her mother, who was not agreeable for this alliance, had brought her daughter to the city and left her in the care of a BJP leader here. The lady allegedly remained under house arrest thereafter. About a month ago, she created a video clip in which she said she was under house arrest in the residence of a BJP leader here since the last two years. She had uploaded this clip to social website. The police who came to know about the clip conducted investigation and rescued her from a rented house five days back. She was thereafter accommodated in the women's rehabilitation centre here.

In the said video, the woman stated that her family has been spreading the information that she was working in the city, whereas in fact she was kept under house arrest. "This house belongs to a BJP leader. I am mentally drained," she claimed.

The lady said that she was provided psychiatric treatment at a hospital at Thrissur after which she was admitted into an Ashram run by Sangh Parivar activists there. From there, she claims, she was shifted to the city.

The police officials say that the lady needs treatment and therefore she has been admitted into the rehabilitation centre. They added that suitable steps would be initiated after investigating the incident in its entirety.

Does this BJP leader has some given name as per his AADHAR card. Why the mass media which is suppose to be fourth column of the democracy is reporting bye- partitions.

Our honourable PM wanted 'beti bachao, beti Padhao', but its own leaders rape women, confine women, abuse women everyday in social media and even protect rapists providing legal assistance.

If media don't take bold stand who the women of India will be protected?

As per the law it is only the victim of such crime identity need to be protected not the accuse.

If she was provided psychiatric treatment prior bringing her to Mangalore - and if it was a genuine case then her statements may not be wholly relied upon...
BTW I am not a specialist - it is just a opinion based on some general knowledge....

    Yo Mister,

Psychiatric problem does not automatically mean that the person is insane. Most such people still carry on their life normally with medications / therapy and are perfectly capable of distinguishing between right and wrong.

There 1,000 different shades of psychiatric problem and only a true professional could give his opinion on these matters. So better not to poke noses on matters which are clearly out of both competences.

Couldn't really care less about either BJP or Congress. But have to say something like this popping up at this point in time sounds very fishy.
Under house arrest for over two years and also have access to mobile phone but decides to report now. Something smells very bad here.
It's quite amazing what low standards some people can fall to to win anything. Shameful and what a pity.

BJP leaders have become a law unto themselves. Like the Talibaan and ISIS they have started to make the rule themselves and if anyone does not agree they are punished like this and put under pressure by being mentally totured and drained. Then when things go wrong for them they will say it was against love jihad. What right and authority does the BJP leader have to keep someone under house arrest. The leader should be jailed for this crime.

Talibani, ISIS type of culture, slowly but steadily spreading in the society in the name of religion.
If religion is not improving the character in humanity, what for the religion is?
To whose purpose it will serve?
If good culture and character is not adopted, somehow evil culture will engulf us.

Well, the news article does not disclose any names. But considering the circumstances of the case, I suppose the senior lady is presumably an RSS / BJP office bearer in Kerala and has a personal acquaintance with BJP leader in Mangalore. Presumably, the daughter’s love affair would have impacted the senior lady’s political aspirations and hence the conspiracy to house arrest the daughter might have been hatched.

Parents having differences of opinion with their child’s choice is nothing new and it probably happens in large number of Indian households in this era. This is a cultural friction that India has had to inevitably face as the 20th century India phases out to the 21st century. Some parents accept the reality and embrace the change; while many other refuse to accept the reality, and try to hold on to these crumbling walls of tradition / religion.

But what worries me is the impunity with which these people break the laws. I am sure that none of them even thought for a moment that they could actually suffer the consequences of breaking the law.
