Mumbai, Sep 10: The CLC Konkani community of Holy Family church, located at Chakala, Andheri (East), celebrated the feast of Nativity of Mary, on Monday September 8 at the parish high school auditorium. Infant Mary was worshipped in a traditional manner with an offering of flowers by children and a procession to the auditorium.
Fr Richard Lasrado, parish priest, St Victor’s church, Mahim, offered prayers and blessed the paddy sheaves during the Eucharistic celebration. Fr Joe M Dias, parish priest, Holy Family church, Chakala, was the chief guest on the occasion.

The traditional Mangalorean vegetarian food was partaken of after worship. This grand traditional celebration was organized with the active participation of Aloysius F D'Souza, Henry D'Silva Suratkal, Richard Martis, Clement A Lobo Nakre, Basil Boliye, Philomena C Lobo and others. Various cultural programmes including a musical concert were performed by youths and children afterwards.
