As BJP surges, 'bring Priyanka' voices grow in Congress camp

New Delhi, May 15 (Zee News): A rather deserted Congress headquarters in the national capital bore a tepid look as BJP surged towards forming the government in the 22nd state of the country. Elections in Karnataka were bitterly fought and Congress president Rahul Gandhi had claimed there would be no losing from here on. In the end, the claim and the words fell hollow.

Party workers, mostly devoted to Rahul, appeared absolutely dejected as their party stared at yet another defeat. Several told Zee News that while they still believe in Rahul's vision, his sister - Priyanka Gandhi Vadra - must now be given a prominent role to play in the party. "I have always supported Rahul ji and I stand by him even today. But I do feel that Priyanka ji needs to be given a bigger say and a big role in how the party approaches Lok Sabha elections next year," said a party worker.

His views were acknowledged by some fellow party workers who had gathered here to celebrate what they had hoped would be a Congress win in Karnataka. They gradually began dispersing as the writing on the electoral wall became increasingly clear.

It is not the first time that Priyanka's name has been taken by people closely associated with the Congress party. While during campaigning in Karnataka, Rahul had said he is ready to be the PM if Congress wins Lok Sabha elections next year, sources say relentless defeats in state elections has left many die-hard Congress supporters doubting him.

Over the last few years, there has been a strong demand within the party that Priyanka be given a formal role. The Gandhi family has repeatedly sidestepped the issue. On her part, Priyanka has restricted herself, politically that is, to the Gandhi family bastions of Amethi and Rae Barelli.

As a Cong supporter I am too feeling the same now. Think about, why despite no corruption charges against govt, Cong didn't got majority? Siddu ruled full 5 years. I am now feeling like Rahul Gandhi should be replaced with someone else. Voters are not attached to him, unlike Modi. In his speeches also he has to tell, apart from criticizing Modi, he should tell what are his ideas? How he will reduce corruption? How he will reduce price rice, what are his vision etc.....

Bringing in Priyanka Gandhi will not be of much use. The first step Congress high command should is to take the step to oust Moily Oscar etc. These are the people who destroyed congress over a period of years in Karnataka. Now i do not know why more useless leaders like Patel Azad etc are coming to Karnataka. They will do what?

PRIYANKA is a show piece, very delicate. If she had any concern for her brother she would have taken a decision to embark on canvassing for the party in Karnataka. There is no doubt people would have favoured her. But there is some pride hiding.

BEST is Rahul retires and some young congressman takes over the party ... it will limp back to life.

I still go with Rahul. He has done tremendously well. Also Mr. Rao too,who is in charges of Karnataka. The arrogance of Congress MLA's, the lethargic attitude, non cooperation by them all cost them heavily.

Tippu Jayanthi, S. M. Krishna leaving Congress, side lining DK by CM, and also so called malicious minority appeasement negative publicity all affected Congress.

So much noise going on, assuming BJP won the election in Karnataka. Its very sad, the law and order in the country is gone to worst, yet people talk about this government. People have still not realized the necessity of a good governance. People are jobless in the country. Prices of necessary items are gone up. Walking on the road is dangerous as footpath have been used by the hawkers. Roads are too bad and the drivers find difficult to drive. Water scarcity in many places. Unsafe for women, young and girls to walk on the road. Rape cases are pending in the courts. Victims are suffering.
    Don't we need a better government ?
Let the government do the good job. But we people of this country live as good human being without hatred to any cast or creed. Believe we all are one, creatures of one God.

Good show by BJP. Well managed Win from lose. But Congress lost instead winning, simply due to closed mindset, as criticised. At least now, they must come out and showcase the educated young talents, who shine with their work and recognitition. Only then may at least find one good opposition for the time being.
