Maharastra Konkan Association Celebrates Monti Fest

Mumbai, Sep 11:
Maharastra Konkan Association of metro, celebrated feast of Nativity of Mary, on Monday September 8 night, at Gyan Ashram, located at Andheri (East), here.
 
Fr Hubert Goveas, parish priest of St Pius church, Mulund (West) offered prayers to Infant Mary and blessed the paddy sheaves, during the Eucharistic celebrations.



Association former president Walter D Souza had especially brought the fresh native vegetables, paddy sheaves, sugarcane and pulses, in order to celebrate the feast of Nativity of Mary in a traditional Mangalorean style, in the metro.  
 
Association veteran Benedict Rebello held the community prayers and offered motion to sharing traditional food with the faithful.
 
Christian Chamber of Commerce and Industry president Vincent Mathias, Amigo director Pramila Mathias, Air Care managing director John B Rebello were present on the dais.
 
Association president Benedict Rebello welcomed the gathering.  Honorary secretary Vincent Castelino, Philip D Souza, Stanley D Souza, John Veigas, Lawrence Coelho, Suzanne Coelho, Harry R Sequeira, Lawrence D Souza Jerimeri and others were present at the occasion.
 
Association convener Leo Fernandes compered the programme while vice president John G Mendonca proposed vote of thanks.
