Mangaluru, May 23: Relating to allegations that slogans hailing Pakistan were raised during the clebrations organized by Congress party in front of Congress party office at Mallikatta here on May 19, the probe has been handed over to Jagadish, assistant commissioner of police of the city central subdivision here.
BJP workers had accused participants of the Congress victory celebrations of raising slogans in favour of Pakistan and complained about it to the city police commissioner. On behalf of Congress, a complaint under the leaderlship of former MLA J R Lobo had been handed over to the commissioner of police, accusing vested interests of meddling with the video clip with the aim of abetting communal violence.
On the basis of the case filed by the police based on above complaints, the police have questioned four persons. The assistant commissioner is learnt to have served notice on six persons, seeking explanations from them. The police are likely to seek details from Facebook too in order to take the investigation to its logical conclusion.
