Bengaluru, May 25: Special Investigation Team (SIT) formed to probe murder of journalist, Gauri Lankesh, which claims to be moving on the right direction towards nailing the culprits involved with Gauri's killing, is preparing to file a 300-page chargesheet within two to three days in the court of the additional chief metropolitan magistrate.
Gauri had been killed in front of her home in Rajarajeshwari Nagar by firing from close range. The officials of the team entrusted with the task of investigating the murder, worked hard for several months without success. During the interrogation of K T Naveen or Hotte Manja from Maddur, who was arrested from Majestic area here for illegal trafficking of arms on March 2, the police say, they got clues about his involvement in the said murder. Based on their findings, they have come to the conclusion that Naveen was involved with this murder.

The chargesheet might be filed in the court anywhere between Friday and Monday.
The officials say that they have also got clue about the involvement of another suspect, Praveen, in the murder and that they are trying to arrest him. They also believe that sharp shooters were involved with this murder, and that Naveen had pooled together all information about Gauri and provided the same to the killers. "We have prepared elaborate report based on various things like cellphone conversation of the accused, gun, bullets and other items recovered from him. "The accused has been giving confusing statements every time. Naveen has definite information about the people who murdered Gauri. That is why he initially agreed for narco analysis test but backtracked at the last minute. We want to use this as a major evidence about his involvement," the officials stated.
Advocate for Naveen, A Vedamurthy, said that bail application would be moved immediately after the chargesheet is filed against his client.
