Dubai, May 28: Precious Parties and Entertainment Services will hold an entertainment evening ‘Kala Festh’ which is the first-of-its-kind in UAE. Konkani music, dance and drama lovers are all set to witness the unique event on June 22 at Emirates Theatre, Jumeirah.
‘Kala Festh’ will have Konkani songs and dances by esteemed artistes of Konkani. In addition, there will be a laughter riot with ‘Haasy Raay Kunvar’ Pradeep Barboza Paladka. The vibrant Mangalurean community youth group of St Mary’s Church Dubai ‘Konkan Yuva’ will support the team ‘Saangon Mugdana Kalakar’ to make it a full entertainment package.
Recently, all artistes of ‘Saangon Mugdana Kalakar’ under the leadership of Pradeep Barboza Paladka gathered at Fr Robert Lasrado‘s (Spiritual director, Mangalurean Konkani community, St Mary’s Church Dubai) office to inaugurate ‘Vechogi Ravncho’ drama script and seek his blessings.
Fr Robert, while invoking God’s choicest blessings on the drama and artistes, informed that the efforts of writer-director Pradeep Barboza are laudable and appreciable. He said, “Every Mangalurean should feel proud to speak in his/her mother tongue that is Konkani. Pradeep Barboza is a good example for the development of our mother tongue. Being a versatile actor, writer and director, he can easily stage Tulu dramas and reach more and more audiences. But his true love and dedication towards Konkani has kept him in Konkani dramas. He has given opportunities to budding artistes and developed their skills through his wonderful direction.” He further applauded the efforts of the artistes for their commitment.
Director Pradeep Barboza thanked Fr Robert Lasrado for giving his precious time to ‘Saangon Mugdana Kalakars’ and invoking God’s blessings on the team. He also thanked all the artists for their time for the programme and the drama rehearsals. Pradeep Barboza also informed that there is a huge demand for the tickets. “We will release the tickets shortly. To avoid disappointments, please purchase tickets well in advance. My team is putting full efforts to make this unique show an ever memorable one,” he said.

Multi-talented Pradeep Barboza is well-known in theatre arena. After successfully establishing himself in his hometown Moodbidri and surrounding areas, he has created laughter waves in the UAE and other GCC countries with his comedy plays.

Besides full-length plays, Pradeep Barboza has successfully hosted the comedy show for radio listeners in Radio 105.4 FM. He has also exhibited his immense talent in over 100 skits in various Konkani programmes in the UAE and Mangaluru.
For his immense contribution in the drama field, ‘Konkan Yuva’ has bestowed him with the title 'Konkani Haasy Raay Kunvar'.
Pradeep is also credited with Konkani’s richest and technically sound super hit movie ‘Ek Aslyar Ek Na’. He wrote the story and screenplay of the movie, directed it and acted in the lead role.
