Bengaluru, Jun 2: After having been appointed as the chairman of coordination committee for striking an understanding between coalition partners of the state government in the state on Friday June 1, former chief minister Siddaramaiah, thanked the Congress high command of his party for reposing faith on him.
He spelt out his major area of operation as striking an understanding and unity between Congress and JD(S). Speaking to media persons, he said that the coordination committee's purpose is to see that both the parties work with mutual cooperation and understanding.
"We will convene coordination committee meetings once or twice every month whenever found necessary. We will also draw common minimum programme based on the election manifestos of both the parties," he added.
Siddaramaiah dismissed the notion that JD(S) has gained upper hand in distribution of portfolios, duly pointing out that a decision was arrived at after leaders of both the sides held discussions. To a question, he dismissed talk of revolt by legislators not getting ministerial berths as mere rumour.
